Chapter 824 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âSeptemortis?â Everyone looked wary of the black pill. It was an extremely poisonous substance. Once consumed, death was certain if one didnât have the antidote.
No one could resist the poisonâs effect, regardless of their cultivation. It was something that struck fear in everyoneâs hearts.
âDustin! If your conscience is clear, then take the pill!â Spring shouted at him. âThatâs right! If you donât take the pill to show youâre innocent, we wonât let you go!â the Hills clamored.
They werenât happy to let Dustin go. But now that they had the Septemortis, things were different. No matter what tricks Dustin had up his sleeves, he couldnât escape death unless he gave them a satisfactory explanation.
âFine. Iâll take it.â Dustin nodded and placed the pill in his mouth.
âSir Rhys! No!â Nelson immediately stopped Dustin when he saw what he had done. âThis is highly poisonous! Youâll die!â
âIf he doesnât take it, heâll die too!â Autumn yelled.
âDamn it! Iâll fight it out with you!â Nelson roared.
âWeâll fight it out!â The disciples from Kirin Gang drew their weapons, ready to fight till the end.
They couldnât stand to see their leader forced into taking poison.
âThatâs enough!â Dustin raised a hand, stopping them in their tracks.
He said calmly, âAll this commotion is because of me. Iâm willing to take the risk. Iâll give everyone an explanation in seven days.â
Then, he swallowed the Septemortis.
âAlright. Iâll let you off today for Sir Reedsâ sake. But you better bear in mind that you have only seven days! Letâs go!â
Seeing that Dustin had swallowed the pill, Spring didnât want to stay any longer. With a wave, he led the Hill familyâs elite guards away.
âUncle Spring, wouldnât it be better to kill him now? Arenât we being too generous to give him seven days?â Torben was still displeased.
He held a grudge against Dustin and wanted to see him dead.
âWe donât know how powerful he is. And those around him arenât ordinary people, either. Unless Sir Reeds helps us out, Iâm afraid we wonât get anything from going against that brat,â Spring explained.
Then, he added, âWe might as well do Sir Reeds a favor now. After all, the rascal has taken the
poison He wonât live more than seven days.â
âHmph! Then weâll let him live his last seven days!â Torben said, gritting his teeth.
Though he wasnât happy with the outcome, he had to admit that Dustin was very powerful. Theyâd suffer significant losses if they insisted on going against him.
âSir Reeds, Iâll entrust the antidote to you.â Conrad flicked a white pill into Ronaldâs hand.
Then, he said, âI have always respected Sir Hill. I am truly saddened by his passing. I trust youâll handle things fairly and give the murderer the punishment he deserves!â
âThis isnât something you should be worrying about, Sir Melling. Weâll handle things at Balerno martial arts alliance our way,â Ronald said calmly.
He knew very well that Conrad was just gloating over their misfortune. He wasnât in the mood to entertain him now.
âSince you already know what to do, I wonât comment further. Iâll take my leave now.â Conrad nodded at Ronald and left with his men.
He looked cheerful and full of energy.
Paulâs death meant the Balerno martial arts alliance would lose significant support. And most importantly, Dustin, their up-and-coming genius, would soon fall too.
Those were two great pieces of news to the Glenstead martial arts alliance.
He decided to get himself several celebratory drinks once he returned.
âDustin, I know that youâre not the murderer. But I have no choice. If I didnât do what I did, they wouldnât back off. I hope you can understand where Iâm coming from.â Ronaldâs expression was complex.
âItâs fine as long as you trust me,â Dustin said respectfully.
