Chapter 826 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
When Dustin finally opened his eyes again, he was in the hospital. It seems that the toxin within him had finally stabilized. But things still werenât looking up for him.
âYouâre awake, dear?â a surprised voice sounded beside him. When Dustin turned around, he found Natasha sitting by his bedside. Worry was evident on her beautiful face. âNatasha, why are you here?â Dustin was shocked.
âI heard from Nelson that you fainted. Of course, I had to come over to check on you. Whatâs the matter? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?â Natasha asked, concerned.
âIâm fine. I guess I was just exhausted, so I dozed off.â Dustin pretended to be relaxed.
âExhausted? Poisoned, more like,â Nelson muttered.
âShut up!â Dustin glared at him.
âPoisoned? What happened?â Natasha asked, furrowing her brow.
âItâs just a little poison. It isnât serious. Iâll be fine after taking some medications.â Dustin chuckled. âAre you sure?â Natasha was doubtful.
âWhat? Donât you trust my medical skills? I canât say that I can bring the dead back to life. But Iâm confident I have what it takes to treat illnesses and remedy poisonings.â Dustin looked confident. âYouâve got a point there.â Natasha sighed in relief.
Ever since she got to know Dustin, he could handle all sorts of complex illnesses. A little poison shouldnât be of too much concern.
âAlright, donât worry about me. You should take better care of yourself! Look at you. I havenât seen you in a few days, and youâre already starting to look exhausted.â Dustin changed the topic.
âI look exhausted? Do I?â
Natasha immediately pulled out a compact mirror to have a look at herself. Women were always very concerned about how they looked.
âNelson â¦â
Right then, a pregnant lady walked in with a little girl who looked around five years old.
âWhy are you here?â Nelson obviously hadnât expected to see them.
âDaddy!â the little girl cried happily and jumped into Nelsonâs arms.
âOh! My Sweet darling!â Nelson beamed and picked up the little girl, kissing her cheek.
âNelson, youâve been in the hospital for the entire day. You havenât had anything to eat yet, have you? I brought you all something to eat.â As Cecilia spoke, she gave him a lunchbox.
âWhy did you go through all that trouble? Iâm a grown man. I wonât starve just because Iâve skipped a meal.â
Though Nelson complained, he couldnât seem to hide the wide smile on his face.
âYouâre a big guy and can handle skipping a meal. But we canât let Mr. Rhys go hungry,â Cecilia retorted.
âOh, thatâs true! I nearly forgot about Sir Rhys!â
Nelson knocked his head and quickly turned to smile apologetically at Dustin. âSir Rhys, Iâd like to introduce you to my wife, Cecilia, and my daughter, Haley.â
âHello, Cecilia.â Dustin nodded at her with a smile.
âMr. Rhys, Iâve prepared a simple meal. I hope itâll suit your taste,â she said shyly.
Dustin might be young, but he was still her husbandâs boss.
âUncle Dustin, my mom makes the best food! Quick! Try it!â Haley urged, excitement showing on
her face.
âIs that so? Then Iâll have to give it a taste!â
Dustin smiled and took the lunchbox. Then, he took a big bite of the food.
âIt really is delicious!â he praised.
âSee, I wasnât lying, right?â Haley giggled as she looked up at Dustin, appearing very proud of herself.
âMr. Rhys, I have a request. I hope youâll be able to grant it,â Cecilia said hesitantly.
âPlease go ahead, Cecilia.â
Dustin put down the food and looked at her with a serious expression.
âItâs Haleyâs birthday tomorrow. Iâd like to request a day off for Nelson so he can take her to a theme park for some fun,â she said carefully.
âIâd thought it was something serious. Of course, that wouldnât be a problem!â Dustin agreed with a smile.
