Chapter 951 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âI know how you feel, Ms. Harmon. But the effects of the poison are too strong. âIâve tried everything, but nothing worked. Iâm really sorry.â Linden sighed.
He cared a lot about Dustin and even planned to make Dustin his successor. It was unfortunate that Dustin had been poisoned with an incurable poison.
âTâthatâs impossible!â Natasha began to panic. Nobody stood a chance if even Linden was unable to cure Dustin.
âHang on!â Natasha suddenly recalled something.
âDr. Watkins, I heard Stoneray Order has a magical herb called âResurgathornâ. It can revive
someone when mixed with a secret recipe. Is that true?â
âResurgathorn?â Linden frowned when he heard this.
âMs. Harmon, that is something that is forbidden. We mustnât use it.â
âWhy not? Are you worried that we wonât be able to pay up?â Natasha was anxious.
âIt has nothing to do with money.â
Linden shook his head before explaining, âResurgathorn isnât a medical herb. Rather, itâs a highly
potent poison thatâs difficult to use.
âDoctors are forbidden from using it.
âI donât care if itâs a medical herb or poison as long as it can save Dustin. Just tell me what I have
to do.â Natasha was unfazed by Lindenâs explanation.
âIf we use Resurgathorn in his current condition, weâll have to risk another personâs life. All the
poison in Mr. Rhysâ body will be transferred to the other personâs.
âIt means weâre exchanging one life for another,â Linden said sadly.
âExchanging one life for another?â Many paled when they heard that.
The cost of treating Dustin was far greater than they had expected.
âThatâs merely one of the conditions. Not everyone has the right criteria to sacrifice themselves.â
âDuring the process, the person sacrificing must willingly go through unbearable pain. Any regret or resistance will render the attempt useless.
âThat person must have a strong mind and unbreakable love toward Mr. Rhys for the treatment to
work.â
Lindenâs explanation made everyone silent in thought, and their expression became grim. They thought of finding a terminally ill patient to fill the role, but it seemed like that plan wouldnât
work now.
Then, who might fulfill these requirements? After all, even close family members would be reluctant to sacrifice themselves willingly.
âEveryone has the right to choose, so we shouldnât force anything on anyone. I think we should give up.â Linden sighed again.
âDr. Watkins, Iâm willing to give it a try.â Natasha volunteered.
âWhat?â Everyoneâs eyes shot toward Natasha, their eyes filled with astonishment.
âMs. Harmon, this isnât a simple matter. If anything goes wrong, both of you will die!â Linden
warned.
Heâd made everything clear, yet Natasha still stubbornly insisted on trying.
âI know, but I still want to try.â Natasha walked over to Dustinâs bed and caressed his cheek.
Her eyes were soft but determined when she said, âHeâs my husband. Iâm willing to sacrifice
myself for him.â
Despite her calm tone, her love for Dustin was evident.
âAre you sure you want to do this, Ms. Harmon?â Linden frowned.
âIâm sure.â Natasha nodded.
âThe pain will be unbearable. Are you sure you wonât regret this?â Linden asked again.
âYep.â Smiling, Natasha bent over and gently kissed Dustinâs lips.
âIf he doesnât make it, Iâll die with him.â
Everyone went silent when they heard her words.
