Chapter 1108
When Love Comes Late
âWhatâs your plan moving forward?â
Matthewâs expression darkened.
âI wonât let him off,â he declared somberly.
âDespite whatever difficulties he may have, heâs harmed my wife and mother repeatedly.
I have to make him pay.
â
Waldo didnât try to dissuade him.
While he had initially considered sparing Benny due to their blood ties, the repeated provocations had crossed a line.
Nodding, Waldo offered some advice.
âBut donât push him too hard.
You donât want to provoke rash actions and more outrageous acts.
â
Matthew Looked at Waldo with a hint of doubt.
âDo you want me to let Benny go?â
Matthew wanted to gauge Waldoâs stance first before confronting Benny.
Recognizing the potential for misunderstanding, Waldo shook his head.
âYou deal with this matter.
I wonât get in your way.
â
With Waldoâs agreement, Matthew felt a bit of tension release.
After inquiring about Waldoâs health, Matthew left the house and returned to Prosper Bay.
On the way home, he considered what to say to console Amara, but upon entering, he found her already packed and waiting for him in the living room.
Frowning at the suitcase beside her, Matthew asked, âMom, what are you doing?â
âMatthew, Iâve thought about it.
I should go back to Fairwa.
Iâm more accustomed to life there.
I donât want to disturb you and Stella,â Amara explained.
âIf living in Prosper Bay makes you uncomfortable, I can buy you an apartment,â Matthew suggested, attempting to convince her to stay.
âWeâre happy to have you here.
If itâs because of Grandpaâ¦â
âNo.
â Amara interrupted.
âI just want to go back.
â
Amara might have seemed amenable, but Matthew knew how unyielding she could be.
Once she made a decision, convincing her otherwise was nearly impossible.
Looking at her with a touch of helplessness, Matthew sighed.
âMom, I wonât insist that you stay with me.
I simply want to take better care of you and ensure you donât get hurt again.
â
