Chapter 1203
When Love Comes Late
Matthew came up and shut the passenger door firmly, his voice cool and detached.
âNo one but my wife sits in the front passenger seat of my car.
â
Elizabethâs eyes met Matthewâs, her expression one of slight confusion.
She had hoped she might persuade Matthew to offer her a ride, yet her plan seemed to fail.
Not wanting to appear too eager, she said casually, âIâm fine with riding in any car.
Thanks, Luka.
â
However, her words hung in the air unanswered.
Feeling a bit awkward, Elizabeth inhaled deeply, held her head high, turned around, and climbed into Lukaâs car.
Stella sent Luka a thankful glance, silently mouthing âthank youâ to him.
Luka simply smirked, rolled up the window, and drove off.
As they left, Matthew and Stella also got into their car together.
On their drive home, Stella pulled out Bellaâs gift, inspecting it with a smile.

Thinking back to Lutherâs words at the party, she asked, âWas Bellaâs invitation because of you?â
Matthew gave a nod.
âDidnât you want to meet more top fashion designers? I saw the chance and asked Luther for a favor.
Sadly, Bella had something come up and couldnât make it.
â
Matthew chose not to reveal the real reason behind Bellaâs invitation, thinking it wasnât the right time for the truth.
Stella put the gift aside, gazing sincerely at Matthew.
âThank you, my love.
Youâre always so kind to me.
â
Matthew looked at her and smiled warmly.
âYouâre my wife.
Itâs my job to make your dreams come true.
No thanks needed.
â
Stella gave a nod of appreciation and let out a light sigh, filled with a bit of regret.
âThis time, I missed the chance to meet Bella.
Do you think weâll have another chance later on?â
Matthew squinted his eyes thoughtfully and said in a soft tone, âAs long as she stays in Seamarsh, our paths are bound to cross.

His words sparked a hopeful smile on Stellaâs face.
âYes, Iâm sure Iâll meet her someday!â
But then, her thoughts drifted to Elizabethâs recent behavior, and her expression changed.
âBut Bellaâs daughter seems tough to handle.
â
She glanced at Matthew, a hint of concern in her voice.
âAnd it seems sheâs taken a liking to you.
Do you think sheâll make things difficult for me if we work together?â
Matthewâs face turned serious as he responded firmly, âI donât Like her.
Youâre the only woman for me.
â
Stella believed him.
She had only meant to tease, not expecting him to be so straightforward.
His serious manner stopped her from teasing further.
She smiled and reassured him, âDonât worry, Iâve known you long enough to understand.
â
After parking the car, he quipped with a hint of jest, âMiss, weâve arrived.
