Chapter 1348
When Love Comes Late
Elizabeth was always true to her word.
The next morning, a silent film starring Stella and Leo took the internet by storm.
The footage was rather mortifying.
Upon hearing the news, Matthew promptly headed to the study to address the issue.
Stella had a peaceful nightâs sleep, but upon waking, she noticed Matthewâs absence from the room once more, furrowing her brows.
She got up and made her way downstairs.
Upon hearing sounds from the kitchen, she assumed Matthew was preparing breakfast, so she had headed straight there.
To her surprise, Erin was the one in the kitchen.
Upon noticing Stella, Erin seemed taken aback and said, âMrs.
Clark, what brings you down so early? Breakfast is ready.
Would you care to eat?â
Stellaâs face creased with suspicion, thinking Erin had helped Matthew keep a secret from her.
She fixed her eyes on Erin and asked gently, âWhereâs Matthew? Heâs not in our bedroom.

Clark mentioned earlier that you should go ahead and eat without him.
He insisted you shouldnât wait.
â
âNo worries.
Itâs still early.
Iâd rather wait for him,â Stella said, reaching for the TV remote again.
Erin interjected again and said, âMrs.
Clark, could you check with Mr.
Clark about his dining plans? I need to know for preparations.
â
After a momentâs thought, Stella set down the remote.
âAlright.
Iâll go see him in the study.
â
With that, she went upstairs again.
Erin watched her leave, patting her chest in relief, thankful she hadnât let anything slip.
She swiftly hid the remote control.
Approaching the study, Stella pushed at the door, surprised to find it locked.
