Chapter 1532
When Love Comes Late
This was the first time sheâd seen him like this.
Colinâs smile turned cold and his gaze grew fierce.
He gripped Jessicaâs neck.
âColin, what are you doing?â Jessica struggled as she tried to pull his hand away.
He held her firmly and asked, âWhy do you think I keep you around?â
Gasping for air, Jessica couldnât speak.
Colin continued, âBecause I thought you were decent and useful.
Quit pushing it! Get out of here right now!â
With that, he shoved Jessica to the floor.
When Stella arrived home, Matthew was already in the living room, waiting for her.
Several versions of the accident of Liz show circulated on the internet, and Matthew had seen some of them himself.
Taking Stella in his arms, he carried her back to their room.
He put her down on the edge of the bed and offered words of comfort.
âThe good thing is that Flossieâs fine.
Itâll only be a matter of time before we find out the truth.
â
Stella answered with a wordless nod.
Matthewâs hands went to her head, rubbing the tension from her temples.
He took out refined photos and showed them to her.
âThe wedding photos we took a few days ago are ready.
Pick one.
â
âAlready? Nice!â His words took away all of Stellaâs gloom.
Her eyes lit up and she jumped excitedly in his arms.
She took the photo, turning around and laying on her stomach to see them better.
âThese are so beautiful.
Itâs impossible to choose.
â
Matthew watched her pour all her attention into selecting the pictures.
His hand gently stroked her back, and the mood between them slowly changed.
Stella had been neglecting him for a few days now, and needless to say, he was feeling more and more frustrated.
He leaned over, ki*sing her ear.
âYou donât have to decide now.
You can take your time choosing later.
How long are you going to keep ignoring me?â
Before Stella could say anything, his lips claimed hers.
The ki*s was hot, with undercurrents of need and urgency that had piled up over the past days.
Matthew pressed his lips firmly against hers, as if he wanted to devour her.
Stella felt her breath pick up at his hunger.
He turned over and pressed her against his chest, with one hand on her back, pulling her to him.
His other hand found the back of her head, pulling her impossibly closer.
The ki*s deepened with each second.
Matthew didnât let Stella go until she was almost out of breath.
He opened his eyes slowly and looked down at her.
Some of the hunger in his eyes had been sated, and Stella explained in a low voice, âI wasnât neglecting you.
Itâs just that Iâve been busy with Bella recently, and thereâs also that matter with my friend.
More importantly, itâs not just us in here.
â
