Chapter 1555
When Love Comes Late
Unable to bear it any longer, Miley cried out, âStop!â
Hearing this, Wyatt turned to Miley, his expression contorted into a sneer.
âAnd who are you to demand me to stop?â
âMr.
Blakel ââ Trembling uncontrollably, Miley struggled to maintain composure.
âThereâs been a misunderstanding.
Iâm Nevilleâs girlfriend.
It was Nevilleâs mistake to abruptly call off the engagement to your daughter, but your actions now are even more barbaric.
â
Wyatt remained silent, his gaze piercing through her.
After a prolonged silence, he pocketed his phone and inquired, âYouâre Nevilleâs girlfriend, right? I am curious to see just how loyal you are to the Pierce family!â
Glancing at his watch, he smirked, âI believe itâs time to depart.
However, I must remind you that you are on a deserted island.
As night descends, it becomes infested with fierce beasts.
Just wait and see!â
With an evil smile, he slammed the door shut behind him and departed.
After Wyatt departed, Miley glanced at the frail figure on the floor, her expression fraught with concern.
âHow are you feeling? Are you alright?â
Bertha nodded weakly.
Her face contorted in pain as she lay amidst the dust-covered floor, her once dignified and noble appearance marred.
Relieved to find Bertha still conscious, Miley reassured her, âHang in there.
Iâll get you out of here.
â
Berthaâs breaths grew increasingly labored.
With a pang of guilt, she managed to utter, âIâm sorry.
This is our familyâs affair; it shouldnât involve you.
I never anticipated youâd be caught up in this.
â
âStop talking.
Save your strength,â Miley urged anxiously.
âLetâs discuss this once weâre out of here!
The ominous words uttered by Wyatt before his departure instilled fear in her heart.
She couldnât bear the thought of perishing in the wilderness; she had to find Neville.
Looking at her surroundings, Mileyâs eyes fell upon a stone chip nestled in the corner.
Relief flooded her as she slowly moved towards it.
Exerting tremendous effort, she reached the corner, her breaths labored and shallow.
Miley drew a deep breath to steady herself.
After several attempts, she successfully seized the stone chip.
Without hesitation, she began using it to grind against the rope binding her wrist.
Her wrists and fingers throbbed with soreness and pain.
Just as she feared she would exhaust her strength, the rope finally loosened, granting her a moment of relief and Liberation.
Ignoring the blood staining her hands, Miley freed her wrists and staggered towards Bertha, her movements unsteady.
