Chapter 1645
When Love Comes Late
As soon as Bella ended the call, she turned to see Elizabeth standing at the doorway.
With medicine and water, Elizabeth walked in and said, âItâs time for your medicine.
â
Bella responded nonchalantly and looked down, completely oblivious to the malicious glare in Elizabethâs eyes.
Elizabeth had overheard almost the entire video chat.
As Elizabeth anticipated, Devyn proved to be utterly worthless.
Just a few words from Stella were all it took to shut her down completely.
Devyn was indeed a drain on her resources and time!
Moreover, Bella even planned to attend Stellaâs wedding!
Elizabeth struggled to contain her anger.
She placed the medicine and water on the table and asked softly, âIs everything resolved with Stella?â
Bella smiled and replied, âYes, itâs all sorted out.
I was wrong about Stella earlier.
The true plagiarist is Devyn.
â
Bellaâs face hardened and her voice deepened.
âAs a designer, Devyn is clueless about her work.
Itâs obvious to me that sheâs a plagiarist.
â
Elizabeth silently cursed Devyn, and then asked, âWhat will you do now?â
Bella declared, âNow that I know the truth, itâs only right to announce the real winner and treat Stella fairly.
â
âThatâs right.
â Elizabeth nodded, feeling the sharp pain of her nails digging into her palm.
She was powerless to influence Bella.
It seemed she needed to find another approach.
After the video chat, Devyn collapsed on the couch, drained.
It was all over⦠She stood no chance.
At that moment, her phone rang.
When she saw Nikolaiâs name, hope flickered within her.
There was still a possibility.
If she could work with Nikolai and if Christie appreciated the wedding dress she designed, she might save her reputation!
Devyn picked up the phone instantly and asked eagerly, âMr.
Todd, has Christie agreed to sign the contract with me?â
On the other end, Nikolaiâs voice was cool and detached.
âMiss Padilla, Iâm calling to tell you that Christie has decided to end the collaboration with you.
â
âWhat?â Devyn was stunned, struggling to catch her breath.
Incredulously, she responded, âBut she liked the second draft I sent, didnât she? Why has she decided against working with me so suddenly?â
