Flossie stayed in the hospital overnight with Colin by her side.

As she went to get up, she turned and saw Colin asleep on the edge of the bed.

By the time he returned, Flossie had packed her things and was perched on the bed’s edge.

“Could you take me home?”

She was suddenly in an urgent situation in the taxi yesterday.

The thought of being alone and vulnerable again filled her with dread.

They left the hospital together.
