Chapter 1729
When Love Comes Late
After Elizabeth came out of Bellaâs room, her smile vanished at once.
Her expression became fierce.
She could ignore Stellaâs vying for Bellaâs attention.
But if something happened to Matthew, she would not let Stella go.
When Andrew came out of the room next door, he happened to see Elizabeth.
Since the wedding, he had been wanting to see Elizabeth.
But she refused, saying she needed to take care of Bella.
Andrewâs face darkened when he noticed the strong sense of hatred on Elizabethâs face.
He walked up to her and forcibly dragged her to the staircase without saying a word.
Elizabeth was hurt.
When she saw clearly who it was, she asked in confusion, âAndrew, are you out of your mind?â
But Andrew turned a deaf ear to Elizabeth.
He slammed her against the wall, pressed her shoulders, and looked at her coldly.
âDid you get involved in this matter?â
âWhat are you talking about?â
Elizabeth didnât understand what he meant for a moment.
The look in her eyes was not friendly at all.
âThe matter about Matthew being shot at his wedding.
â
Andrewâs words were brief and concise.
âWhy are you accusing me? Are you crazy? I didnât do it.
Let go of me!â Elizabeth struggled hard, but her strength was no match for Andrew.
After all, she was a woman.
Although she denied it, Andrew didnât believe her.
He had known about the crazy things Elizabeth did to Stella in Seamarsh.
It could be said that she could resort to any possible means to achieve her goal.
Therefore, he didnât believe Elizabethâs real intention of coming here was to attend the wedding and send her blessings.
Andrew held Elizabethâs arm tightly, watched her coldly as she struggled, and said, âTake my advice.
Give up Matthew, and donât hurt them anymore.
â
Elizabeth shook off his hands with all her strength and glared at Andrew.
Then, she said in an unfriendly tone, âWho do you think you are? Itâs none of your business.
â
Later that afternoon, Benny convened a group meeting to halt all projects initiated by Matthew and to prioritize collaboration efforts with Edmundâs company.
Upon hearing this directive, the executives exchanged concerned glances with one another.
The order seemed blatantly unjustified, leading them to speculate boldly that it stemmed from a personal grudge.
With Benny now wielding absolute authority within Prosperity Group and Matthewâs situation remaining precarious, the executives with dissenting opinion hesitated to speak up, aware of the potential consequences.
Benny stated calmly, âWith no objections from anyone, weâll consider it settled.
â
Just as the meeting neared its conclusion, Breck, the market departmentâs director, spoke up.
âMr.
Clifford, I respectfully disagree.
â
