Chapter 1733
When Love Comes Late
In response to her inquiries, Benny countered, âYouâre overthinking.
I donât share your concerns.
Iâve noticed your recent mood swings; hence, I think itâs best for you to remain at home for now.
If youâre feeling bored, I can make an effort to come home daily and take you for walks downstairs.
â
In the past, Flossie might have been touched, but now, knowing Bennyâs true nature, she merely sneered.
Flossie gazed at Benny with a cold smile and inquired, âSince Iâve misunderstood your intentions, could you return my phone?â
Bennyâs expression remained unchanged as he calmly declined, âThe situation outside is chaotic.
Iâll hold onto your phone for now.
Try not to let it bother you.
â
Repeated refusals of Flossieâs requests, combined with her existing resentment toward Benny, culminated in a sudden eruption of all her emotions at that moment.
In a swift motion, she threw off the quilt and declared, âFine, I donât need my phone.
Iâll go to my fatherâs.
â
Benny swiftly grabbed Flossie as she opened the door, shutting it firmly once more.
Holding her tightly, Benny implored, âPlease calm down.
Iâve been incredibly busy lately.
Do you understand the significance of these times for me? You used to support me in every decision.
Am I not as worthy as Stella in your eyes?â
Flossie fought fiercely and exclaimed, âRelease me! I have no part in your plans.
Iâm uninterested in your affairs and donât wish to know your intentions.
I want to sever all contact with you!â
Her eyes welled up with tears, and she teetered on the brink of emotional collapse.
Seeing her intensity, Benny sighed, âI apologize.
â
In a swift motion, he struck Flossie on the back of her head, causing her to collapse into his embrace.
Gently Lifting Flossie, Benny Laid her back on the bed, observing her silently.
Just then, a message flashed on his phone screen.
âWeâve got rid of him.
â
Reading the message, Benny swiftly deleted it and set his phone down.
Extending his hand, he caressed her gently, his eyes carrying a weighty emotion.
Only when she was in a coma could she be quiet.
The brief shadow of melancholy crossed his face, dissipating quickly as he resumed his indifferent demeanor upon opening his eyes anew.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, Waldo emerged from a coma, finding Stella faithfully watching over him as he glanced around.
âStella, howâs Matthew doing?â His voice, hoarse and filled with concern, questioned her.
Meeting his concerned gaze with sorrowful eyes, Stella shook her head gently, responding, âHe hasnât changed.
â
Waldo let out a deep sigh, his suppressed anger resurfacing at the thought of Bennyâs authoritative presence in the group.
He vented in frustration, âItâs my fault.
I shouldnât have underestimated that heartless scoundrel from the start.
â
His words were interrupted by a heavy cough.
Despite her own melancholy, Stella attempted to console Waldo, âPlease donât be upset.
Focus on your health first.
We can discuss this when Matthew wakes up.
â
