Chapter 1771
When Love Comes Late
Noticing the change in his expression, Stella couldnât help but worry.
âWhat happened? Is there any news about Benny?â she asked, her voice anxious.
Matthew thought for a moment and answered honestly, âItâs Flossie.
Sheâs in danger.
â
Stellaâs shock was evident.
âWhat happened to her?â
Despite her unresolved feelings about Flossieâs past deceptions, she harbored no ill wishes for her.
Matthew quickly explained the situation.
âFlossie was a crucial ally in our efforts to defeat Benny.
Edmund contacted the arms dealer, Gerry.
And it was Edmund who devised the plan that led to Bennyâs downfall, providing us with crucial evidence.
â
As Matthew and Stella conversed, the car pulled up at Prosper Bay.
Before Stella could fully process Matthewâs words, he turned to her and said, âColin is waiting for us.
Letâs find out whatâs happening.
â
As soon as they got out of the car, Colin approached them.
Concern etched on her face, Stella inquired, âWhat happened to Flossie?â
Colinâs expression turned grave as he replied in a subdued tone, âFlossie was at my office when she got a call from Edmund.
He warned her that Benny had escaped during his transfer to the police station.
Before we could react, Bennyâs bodyguard showed up and took her by force.
â
His frown deepened, his tone becoming colder with each word.
âIâve always been worried about her safety; I even put a GPS tracker in her bracelet.
Since she was taken, the GPS showed her location moving to increasingly remote areas.
â
Colinâs expression darkened further.
âNow that Benny is on the loose, his intentions are unclear.
But itâs likely heâs using Flossie as leverage, threatening Edmund for his escape.
â
His fists clenched in frustration and anger at his inability to protect Flossie.
âI should have stopped the bodyguard when I had the chance,â he muttered.
Matthew frowned and asked, âWhereâs the current Location?â
Colin immediately showed him the GPS location on his phone.
It pinpointed a remote area in the suburbs of Seamarsh, within the Chehig District-an empty and deserted area where finding someone would be akin to searching for a needle in a haystack.
Colin had no choice but to ask Matthew for help.
The atmosphere grew tense.
With a worried expression, Stella asked, âWhatâs our next move?â
Before Matthew could formulate a plan, his phone rang.
He picked it up and saw that it was a call from Benny.
Matthew answered immediately, his eyes as cold as ice.
âYouâve run out of options.
Thereâs no escape for you.
Surrender now, and I might consider showing you mercy.
â
âThis isnât over.
Donât mistake my retreat for a defeat.
The law wonât resolve our conflict.
Letâs settle this face-to-face.
â Bennyâs response was cold and menacing.
Matthewâs voice dropped to a low, dangerous tone.
âTell me your address.
â
