Chapter 1781
When Love Comes Late
Wary of Stella dwelling on the matter, he diverted the conversation.
âIâm contemplating another wedding.
Any suggestions?â
Stellaâs previous wedding experience was so harrowing that she still shuddered at the mention of the word âwedding.
â
âJust forget about it.
Letâs not have it.
â She soaked the towel again and wrung it out.
Understanding her fear, Matthew attempted to persuade her, âWe still need to plan the wedding, and itâs some time away.
I promise you a magnificent celebration and a wonderful memory.
â
Stella was on the verge of objecting, but the genuine Look in his eyes made it hard for her to refuse.
She remained silent, though inside she was still resistant.
She decided to wait a bit and then ask Lucia to convince Matthew to quit the idea of holding another wedding.
The following day, during the check-up, the doctor advised Matthew on what to avoid and informed him when his stitches would be removed.
âEverythingâs fine for now.
You can proceed with the discharge process.
â
Concerned about Matthewâs unexpected dizziness the previous evening Stella requested, âIâd like him to undergo a comprehensive check-up.
â
âThereâs no rush.
â Matthew dismissed it, saying, âIt was just a slight dizzy spell.
Itâs no big deal.
Iâm feeling much better now.
â
Recently, Stella has been consumed with anxiety over his health.
He didnât want her to continue worrying, so he planned to return to the hospital alone for a check-up later.
He would inform her if all was well.
Listening to Stella, the doctor urged, âEven though the basic tests didnât show any issues, itâs important to have a further check-up if you feel off.
If you want a thorough check-up, I can arrange it right now.
â
Matthew was silent.
Just as Stella was about to agree, his phone interrupted her.
It was a call from Neville.
Matthew stepped aside to take the call.
âWhatâs the update?â
Nevilleâs voice came through.
âIâve verified personally that Benny is deceased, and the DNA matches.
Heâs definitely gone this time.
â
âOkay, Matthew responded calmly.
â
He felt indifferent toward Benny, who had only disrupted his once peaceful life.
Hearing of Bennyâs death simply meant one less problem for him.
The only emotion Matthew felt was a sense of relief.
He no Longer had to worry about Stella and their close ones being in danger.
âIs there anything else I should check?â Neville asked.
âNo, just go home and rest.
Youâve really put in the effort these past days,â Matthew advised.
Neville sighed in relief and teased, âYouâre right.
Iâm utterly worn out.
Now, I can finally catch some decent sleep.
â
