Chapter 1793
When Love Comes Late
The bright colors around them caused her to feel dizzy for a moment.
The whole place had been so beautifully decorated, it looked exactly like a fairyland.
As she entered the Living room, Stella couldnât help but gasp as she took in the beautiful scene in front and around her.
Choking, she said softly, âItâs so mesmerizing.
When did you have the time to do all of this?â
Smiling, Matthew wrapped his arms around her from behind and asked, âSo, you like it, right?â
Glancing at the roses that were in every single corner of the room, Stella could feel her heartbeat increase as she got more excited.
Blushing deeply, she replied, âOf course, I love it so much!â
With his eyes filled with love, Matthew let out a soft laugh, rested his chin on Stellaâs shoulder, and said, âIâm so happy that you love it.
Itâs a token of my appreciation to you for taking care of me during this time.
â
Since he woke up from his coma, he had always wanted to show Stella just how appreciative he was of her support, but he couldnât find a way to achieve this.
It wasnât until he spoke to Neville that he was able to arrange this.
Matthew slowly turned Stella around, placed his palms on her cheeks, and said, âI swear to you with everything that I hold dear, I wonât let you undergo such worry about me ever again.
â
Overwhelmed with emotions, Stella couldnât help but wrap her arms around him and hug him tightly.
As she felt his heartbeat, she murmured a prayer of thanks and hugged him even more tightly, afraid that he would vanish at any moment and she would discover that she had been dreaming.
âEvery second that you were in your coma, I was scared to hell that you wouldnât wake up.
I⦠I feared almost every time that you were going to die.
I was ready to kill myself and follow you,â Stella whispered.
Hearing this, Matthew frowned and said firmly, âNo, donât ever think of that again! Regardless of what happens in the future, do all you can to see to it that you live a good and happy life.
You deserve to have all the good things in this life and live for long.
â
The moment he finished speaking, Stella looked up at him and her eyes suddenly became filled to the brim with tears.
Matthew used a finger to wipe off her tears, planted a ki*s on her forehead, and then placed his forehead against hers, saying, âYou know, while I was in the coma, doing all I could to stay alive, there was always a soothing voice urging me to wake up.
â
Stella pursed her lips when she heard this and looked up into Matthewâs deep eyes.
âI love you to the moon and back, Stella.
Iâd never do anything to make you sad,â Matthew said softly, his voice beautiful and mesmerizing.
As their heads were very close to each other, Stella couldnât help but feel a little intoxicated by his warm breath.
She locked eyes with him, swallowing hard as her heartbeat jumped through the roof.
Lowering her head shyly, she said teasingly, âWell then, if you happen to endanger yourself in the future, I will do my best to find a man who is way richer and more powerful than you, make him fall in love with me, and marry him.
â
Though she was joking, Matthew couldnât help but feel depressed at the thought of Stella marrying another man.
He quickly hugged Stella tightly as his eyes became filled with somber emotion.
Gritting his teeth, he said assertively, âThatâs never going to happen! The only man whose wife you will ever be is me! No matter what it takes, I will stay by your side forever!â
Stella wasnât sure if it was the roomâs romantic atmosphere or the rosesâ fragrance that made her heart race so wildly, threatening to burst from her chest.
She voiced a mild complaint.
âYou are too domineering.
â
Matthewâs smile widened.
âAnd thereâs something even more overbearing.
Donât you like it?â
A blush crept over Stellaâs cheeks, leaving her speechless.
