Chapter 1832
When Love Comes Late
Alissa agreed.
âDoreen is right.
You truly are exceptional.
â
Stella thanked them with a smile and hesitated before turning to Alissa, looking slightly nervous.
âIâve admired your work since I saw it firsthand last time and would love to learn from you to enrich my design skills.
Would you consider taking me on as a student?â
She was afraid her request would be outright rejected, especially with the recent rumors about her on the internet.
However, Alissa was unfazed by the rumors.
She smiled.
âIf youâre eager to learn, Iâd be happy to teach you.
I want to pass on this technique to future generations.
â
Speaking of that, she suddenly sighed with sadness.
Stella turned to Doreen, only to see that Doreen also looked confused.
Alissa lowered her eyes and said in a low voice, âWhen I was young, I had a best friend.
We studied together.
I majored in embroidery techniques, and she was very talented in design.
She could turn any piece of fabric into a work of art as long as she touched it.
â
She paused for a moment, and her lips curved into a faint smile.
âAt that time, we two worked together.
She would always leave a space for me to embroider patterns in each of her works.
We cooperated for several years, and outsiders thought we were the best partners.
We also felt we could work best together, so we agreed to open a studio after graduation.
But laterâ¦â
Alissa suddenly stopped as if she thought of something.
The smile on her lips disappeared, and her expression darkened.
Stella waited for a while.
However, Alissa didnât continue her story anymore.
Stella was so immersed in yearning for this beautiful friendship that she didnât notice the change in Alissaâs expression.
She subconsciously asked, âWhat happened next?â
Alissa smiled bitterly.
âAs soon as we graduated, she got married and got pregnant.
So, our plan was delayed.
â
As she spoke, there was an obvious sadness in her eyes.
She probably felt sorry for her best friend.
Stella sensed something was wrong with Alissaâs expression when she mentioned her best friend.
But Stella couldnât figure out why.
Perhaps Alissa felt sad for her best friend, who chose to give up on their shared dream.
But since Alissa thought highly of her friendâs skill, then that person must be very talented.
Stella thought for a while.
Then, she said solemnly, âGetting married and having children are
part of lifeâs experiences.
If your best friend is willing to continue to work, she can come to Prosperity Group or my studio.
But my humble studio is small.
It might not be good enough to match her talent.
However, the salary will surely be good.
â
Stella believed that with the help of such an outstanding talent, her studio would surely prosper.
She thought of this offer because she didnât want such kind of talent to be wasted.
However, the expression on Alissaâs face changed dramatically when she heard Stellaâs offer, but she didnât say anything.
Stellaâs impression of Alissa was that she was gentle and kind.
She rarely showed such an expression.
So, Stella couldnât help but ask, âDid anything happenâ¦â
âStellaâ¦â Doreen hurriedly stopped Stella and joked, âThis place is so nice.
Letâs stop talking about work, okay? Iâve worked hard all day, and I have been looking forward to a happy meal.
â
After saying this, she winked at Stella, hinting at her not to ask any more questions.
Stella noticed Doreenâs gaze, and she immediately understood what Doreen meant.
So, she wisely changed the topic.
They had a good meal, talking about some light topics.
After dinner, Stella offered to send Alissa home.
âI didnât see you drive here.
Iâll drive you both home.
â
