Chapter 1845
When Love Comes Late
After saying that, he turned to Bella and asked, âHave you been taking any mental medicine recently?â
Bella was shocked by the question.
Cordell seemed to think there was something wrong with the medicine she was using, but how could that be possible?
Frowning, Bella asked, âCould there be a mistake in the test results? I had an accident before, and since then, Iâve been having headaches.
Iâve been taking the medicine prescribed by my family doctor, and it was very effectiveâ¦â
She paused, recalling how different she had felt after taking the medicine lately.
Her memory and emotions fluctuated wildly-sometimes they were good, sometimes bad, and at times, it felt as if they were being controlled by someone else.
âHave you recalled anything unusual?â Cordell noticed her pensive expression and asked, âIf you donât mind, can I see the medicine prescribed by your family doctor? That way, I can make a judgment and determine what kind of examination you need.
â
Without hesitation, Bella took out the medicine bottle and said, âIâve been taking this medicine all along.
A good sleep after taking it can reduce the headache, but the symptoms of the recent episode are stronger than before.
The doctor asked me to increase the dose.
â
Cordell poured out two pills from the bottle and examined them closely.
With his bare eyes, he couldnât see anything unusual about the medicine.
He turned to Bella and asked, âCan I take a pill for testing?â
Bella trusted him completely.
She had come to get checked, and since there was a potential issue, she decided it was best to find out.
She didnât refuse his request.
While Cordell took the pill for testing, Bella and the others waited outside for the results.
Bella continued to reflect on her recent mood swings, especially that night when Stella came to her.
She had been overly emotional and likely said something harsh.
But now, she couldnât even remember her exact words.
She only recalled that her attitude had been poor.
As she reflected on it, she realized she had quickly dismissed Stella without even hearing her out.
The more she thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong.
She hadnât been herself at all during those moments.
Did the family doctor do something to her medicine?
But why? For his own selfish desire?
Bella clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white.
Seeing her silent, Stella assumed Bella was worried about her health.
Stella sat down next to Bella and comforted her in a soft voice, âDonât be afraid.
Since Cordell said you are in good health, there must be nothing serious.
The medicine is being tested, and weâll figure out the problem.
Soon, weâll prescribe the right medicine, and youâll recover.
â
Bella nodded, forcing a smile, but said nothing.
