Chapter 1879
When Love Comes Late
Bella already doubted that Kristian had conspired with Elizabeth.
Now, she couldnât help suspecting him again.
Kristian sensed Bellaâs suspicion, and his brows furrowed tightly.
He hid his true emotions in his eyes and put on a guilty look.
âItâs all my fault.
As a father, I didnât teach Elizabeth well.
Thatâs why she made such a huge mistake.
But when she begged me last night, I didnât have the heart to refuse her.
I know you were also sad when she broke up with Andrew.
I thought if they could reconcile, maybe Andrew could help us restrain her.
â
After saying this, he sighed helplessly.
âI blame myself for being softhearted and thoughtless.
I messed up and embarrassed you.
â
Bella was very dissatisfied that Kristian called Andrew.
But when she saw his sincere apology, she couldnât say any harsh words to him.
Kristian was the one who stayed by Elizabethâs side most of the time during those years when Bella was busy with her work.
In short, he personally brought Elizabeth up.
So, now that Elizabeth had become like this, Kristian must have felt worse than Bella did.
At the thought of this, Bellaâs tone softened when she said, âWhat happened to Elizabeth is not entirely your fault.
I am also responsible for it.
But we can no longer tolerate her in everything she wants to do, like before.
Otherwise, she will only go too far.
â
Kristian nodded in agreement.
âAfter Elizabeth returns, Iâll ask someone to watch over her.
Iâll try to make her learn more, enrich herself, and stop thinking about other things.
Since you want to recuperate in Seamarsh, Iâll stay here with you.
â
He paused and said gently, âI heard that Stella found a doctor and has already made a treatment plan for you.
I will accompany you when the time comes.
Everything will be fine.
â
The warmth in Kristianâs eyes dissipated all the doubts in Bellaâs heart.
She appreciated his offer.
But she didnât want to trap him in Seamarsh, so she said, âYou go back and do your business.
Donât worry about me.
I can take care of myself.
â
But Kristian shook his head.
âNo.
I have decided to stay with you.
How can business be more important than your health? Besides, after everything that happened, you need me.
So, I want to be with you.
â
Kristian was very firm with his words, so Bella didnât insist on refusing.
Kristian secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Bella had calmed down.
He said gently, âIâll call Stella later to thank her for keeping you company during this period.
She has been so worried about you that she personally found a doctor for you.
But that day, Elizabeth was too emotional, and her actions frightened her.
I want to invite Stella and Mr.
Clark to dinner at home tonight to thank them.
â
Bella had no objection to Kristianâs plan.
She was even satisfied with his way of dealing with things.
âOkay, just make arrangements according to your plan,â she said.
Bella realized maybe she shouldnât have vented her anger on Kristian.
Kristian held Bella in his arms without saying anything.
But his eyes darkened.
Stella took the wheel, driving Lindsay to check out the apartment Lindsay had chosen.
Along the way, Stellaâs phone rang, displaying an unfamiliar number.
Confused, she answered the call.
âIs this Stella? Itâs Kristian,â the voice on the other end introduced himself.
Stella had a favorable impression of him, so she politely responded, âHello.
How may I assist you?â
