Chapter 1902
When Love Comes Late
Stella pressed her lips together and stayed silent.
She remembered how Lindsay had shielded her from the robberâs knife during the robbery.
If Lindsay had romantic feelings for Matthew, she might see Stella as a rival.
Why would she risk her life to protect her?
Despite Mileyâs advice, Stella decided to trust that Lindsay wasnât that type of person.
She said, âNo, I donât think she has.
Iâve met her a few times.
Sheâs just a simple girl.
A few days ago, when we encountered a robber, she got hurt trying to protect me.
â
Miley fell silent.
âItâs late.
We should hang up and get some sleep.
â Stella then suggested gently, âWhen Iâm back in Seamarsh, Iâll introduce you to Lindsay.
You both have similar personalities.
Iâm sure youâll get along.
â
Miley didnât continue this topic.
She hoped she was just overthinking things.
âBy the way, how is your grandpa now? What did the doctor say?â
Stella replied, âHe hasnât woken up yet, but heâs out of danger.
He should be okay.
â
âThatâs a relief,â Miley said softly.
âHave you thought about convincing your grandpa to come to Seamarsh with you? Heâs getting older, and the butler is no different.
If something like this happens again, you might not get there in time.
â
Stella considered Mileyâs suggestion reasonable.
âYouâre right.
Iâll talk to him about it.
â
After chatting with Miley for a while longer, Stella ended the call.
When she returned to Clintâs bedside, there was still no change in his condition.
After pondering for a moment, Stella tried calling Matthew, but his phone was switched off.
Frowning, Stella hung up the phone and stared blankly at it.
There was a knock on the door.
Fernando gently pushed it open and entered the ward.
He had also seen the photos online and intended to call Matthew but couldnât reach him, so he came directly to Stella to inform her.
But before he could say anything, he was interrupted.
âI already know.
â Stella spoke quietly.
Fernando was momentarily taken aback, and then asked, âShould we delete the news first? Or clarify Lindsayâs relationship with Mr.
Clark?â
From the day Lindsay joined Prosperity Group, Fernando had known her true identity.
âI arranged the crew today, but I didnât anticipate the tabloids twisting the facts like this.
I apologize for any trouble this has caused you,â he added.
Stella shook her head and replied, âItâs not your fault.
â
Just then, Stellaâs phone rang.
It was Lindsay calling.
