Chapter 1913
When Love Comes Late
A trace of uncertainty flickered across Kristianâs eyes as he spoke.
Bella and Stella fell into graveyard silence after hearing the outcome.
Kristian broke the silence and added, âLetâs all drop this conversation; the incident was just too complicated.
Finally, everything is back to the way itâs supposed to be.
Letâs all enjoy the peace that comes with it.
â
After saying that, he exhaled and asked Stella, âDo you understand my effort to protect your mother? Do you think I donât want to take revenge? My only desire is to protect your mother.
Now that youâre here with us, I dare not jeopardize your safety.
â
Since he was being sincere, if others were persistent in inquiring more from him, it would seem unusual.
Stella nodded in agreement and said, âI know.
I wonât dwell on this matter again.
My biggest fear was me not being able to find my mother but now Iâve found her, my heart is filled with joy again.
â
Kristian wore a wide smile on his lips.
He turned and said to Matthew, âIâm glad Stella met such a young genius like yourself, Mr.
Clark.
I see youâre a reliable man.
Seeing that Stella is living a good life, I feel less guilty.
â
A lot of events had taken place in just two days, and Bella was still recovering.
After breakfast, she was completely exhausted.
Kristian looked at Bellaâs feeble state and said to Stella, âYouâve been here for a long time.
Why donât you go home and rest? Let me take over.
Now that your mother has woken up, Iâll stay here and take care of her.
â
Stella was still uncertain about it.
She didnât want to leave her motherâs side.
She had just recently found her.
Kristian said, âI understand how excited you feel, but your health is far more important.
Moreover, we have plenty of time to spend with each other.
Just take care of yourself first.
â
Stella finally agreed.
Kristian let out a sigh of relief.
âThank you for understanding and weâre sorry for all the pain youâve suffered all these years.
Luckily, you have Mr.
Clark with you.
Otherwise, I wonât have peace within myself for the rest of my life.
â
He said quite a lot, and even apologized to Stella.
But she only Listened without any expression on her face; she wasnât touched by it at all.
Looking at the dark circles around Stellaâs eyes, Bella couldnât help but convince her to go home.
âYouâve stayed for so long, so go home and freshen up.
There is still time to catch up.
If there is anything youâd like us to discuss, Iâll be here; just take your time.
Iâll have a meal with your grandpa, who raised you, when I leave the hospital.
â
Hearing her soft voice made Stella tear up, but she didnât want Bella to find her reaction weird, so she forced herself to smile and nod.
Stella unwillingly left the hospital.
Bella reminded her about her grandfather.
Stella had been staying in the hospital after returning to Seamarsh; she should probably check up on Clint.
Back in the car with Matthew, Stella had her head down and she sat quietly with a gloomy expression on her face.
âAre you exhausted?â Matthew asked.
Stella joggled her head.
âBella now knows youâre her daughter; are you not happy about this?â
Stella shook her head and refuted, âOf course Iâm happy.
It all just happened so suddenly.
â
Matthew responded, âWeâve prepared and investigated this thoroughly.
It isnât sudden at all.
â
Resting her head on Matthewâs shoulder, Stella confided, âActually, everything feels so surreal right now.
I thought Iâd cry, but instead, I was just overwhelmingly happy.
My emotions were so mixed, I couldnât even cry.
It all felt Like a dream.
â
