Chapter 1931
When Love Comes Late
Stella nodded.
âYes, sheâs very talented.
â
A hint of pride flickered across her face as she spoke of her mother.
Alissa smiled, genuinely happy for Stella.
âIt must be fate to reconnect after all this time.
â
Stella sighed, recalling her past hardships in the journey of finding her mother.
âWe actually knew each other for a while before we realized we were related.
We got along well back then, but of course, neither of us knew.
Looking back, it does feel like fate intervened.
â
Their conversation paused as Stellaâs attention snagged on a photo displayed on Alissaâs desk.
The photo was of two girls, one with a high ponytail and the other with loose, flowing hair.
Both were smiling warmly, and they seemed pretty close.
One was unmistakably a young Alissa, while the other⦠Stella squinted, sensing a familiarity in the other girlâs features.
She couldnât help but study her closely.
After a moment of contemplation, Stella suddenly realized why she felt a connection-there was a striking resemblance in their eyes and brows.
This revelation startled Stella.
Unaware of Stellaâs reaction, Alissa handed her a set of documents.
âThese are my recent works,â she began but paused when she noticed Stellaâs unwavering focus on the photo.
After a brief silence, Alissa gently set aside the documents and picked up the photo.

Caught off guard, Stella blurted out, âAlissa, who is this girl?â
Alissaâs expression softened with a touch of sadness and nostalgia as she stroked the photo.
âThis is the good friend I mentioned to you before,â she explained softly.
Then, meeting Stellaâs eyes, she added, âHave you noticed that you look like her?â
Stella nodded, her confusion evident.
Alissa smiled softly and said, âThe first time I saw you, I felt the same.
I almost thought my good friend had returned to me, but your ages are so different.
Perhaps God knew how much I missed her, so He sent you to be with me.
â
Stella fell into a thoughtful silence.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
She realized why Alissa had sometimes looked at her as if seeing someone else through her.
Despite this realization, Stella felt only gratitude toward Alissa for all the help she had given her.
Seeing Alissaâs sadness and tears welling up just from talking about her friend briefly, Stella understood how deeply Alissa cherished her lost friend.
âAlissa, the past is gone, and the living must move forward.
Your friend wouldnât want to see you like this,â Stella said gently, trying to comfort her.
Alissa wiped her tears and smiled.
âItâs been many years, and Iâve survived the hardest times.
Letâs not dwell on it,â she said, handing the documents to Stella.
âMy student brought these materials back from abroad.
Theyâll help you learn embroidery techniques.
â
Stella accepted the documents gratefully.
âThank you.
