Chapter 1959
When Love Comes Late
As she moved to guide Matthew, Felix insisted, âHeâs heavy.
Let me help you.
â
Glancing around, Felix focused on the nearby room and asked, âIs this the Lounge for him?â
He reached for the door, prompting Lindsay to step forward to stop him.
Just then, the door of the adjacent room swung open, and Stella emerged.
Though still feeling a bit uncomfortable from choking on water earlier, she was more composed now.
Spotting Matthewâs condition, Stella furrowed her brow and demanded, âWhatâs going on here?â
Her gaze then shifted to Lindsay, suspicion evident.
Lindsayâs heart raced as panic flickered across her face.
Trying to appear composed, she explained, âMatthew is feeling slightly off.
I was just helping him to get to youâ¦â
Stella fixed Lindsay with a silent stare, her expression unreadable.
Meanwhile, Felix, oblivious to the tension, said, âYou must be Matthewâs wife.
Iâll leave him to you.
â
Handing Matthew over to Stella, he pulled Lindsay away forcefully, flashing a smile.
âCome with me.
I have something for you,â Felix insisted, gripping Lindsayâs hand tightly.
Lindsay attempted to wriggle free, puzzled by the strength of his hold, but his fingers were clamped tightly around her.
Just as she turned her head, Lindsay witnessed Matthew passionately ki*s Stella.
The ki*s was intense and brimming with love and desireâ something Lindsay had never seen from Matthew before.
He held Stella close, showering her with affection, before they disappeared into the room, closing the door behind them.
At that moment, Lindsayâs hopes were dashed.
She hated Felix even more.
Damn it! It could have been her that Matthew was ki*sing.
The banquet hall was still very lively until this time.
When one song ended, a waiter pushed a food cart in with a few layers of cake on it.
Joann looked around.
Still, she didnât see any signs of Lindsay, Matthew, and Stella.
She secretly sniggered.
Everything was ready.
There was only one step left.
After slicing the cake, she turned to Bennett, pretending to be regretful.
âItâs strange.
Why havenât Stella and Matthew come yet? I want to personally apologize to them about what happened earlier.
â
Bennett thought for a while and said, âMaybe Matthew is with Stella at the moment.
After all, she has choked on water and needs rest.
â
At this time, someone in the crowd immediately said, âI remember seeing Mr.
Clark go upstairs with a woman just now.
He didnât Look good.
â
When the other guests heard this, they all began to imagine what might happen.
An adult man and woman were alone together and even went upstairs.
