Chapter 1977
When Love Comes Late
Lucia then said to Lindsay, âThatâs good.
Itâs about time you started being independent.
â
âGrandma, youâre right.
â Lindsay held back her reluctance and managed to smile.
After the meal, Stella and Matthew left the Clark family residence.
While in the car, Stella reflected on Lindsayâs cunning tactics at dinner and how Lucia and Waldo supported her, which made her sigh.
She had felt rather powerless and unhappy since Lindsayâs return.
However, she understood why Waldo and Lucia felt as they did.
They had raised Lindsay, so naturally, they cared for her.
Lindsay also knew how to win them over with her charm.
Even Stella had been fooled by Lindsayâs seemingly innocent manner initially.

Noticing Stellaâs sigh and her troubled expression, Matthew asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Stella shook her head, choosing not to respond, but Matthew sensed her distress.
He took her hand, offering comfort.
âIâll do what I can to limit your interactions with Lindsay in the future, and Iâll have Fernando communicate with her regarding company matters.

Although there was no concrete evidence implicating Lindsay in the recent issues, her consistent presence during these events raised Matthewâs suspicions.

She understood that Matthewâs suggestion was the best option for now, but it was only a temporary fix.

Due to Lucia and Waldo, their paths were bound to cross eventually.
As Stella pondered this, her phone began to ring.
Bella was calling.
âStella, do you have some free time these days?â
Bellaâs gentle voice flowed through the phone, instantly soothing the annoyance bubbling within Stella as she answered the call.
Bella continued, her voice steady and warm, âI want to take you back to Dorburn and handle the property transfer while weâre there.
â
Stella paused, taken aback.
âWhy is this happening so suddenly?â she asked.
Bella smiled, her voice carrying a reassuring warmth.
âIâve had my mind set on this for quite some time.
Just find some time for us,â she sa
id.
Stella, eager to accompany her, readily agreed without hesitation.
Checking her work schedule, she announced, âIâll be free for the next two weeks.
The ballâs in your court.
â
After a momentâs contemplation, Bella proposed, âHow about we leave in a week? You can use these days to pack your belongings.
â
