Chapter 2027
When Love Comes Late
She donned a mask, turned around, and marched directly toward Elizabeth.
Upon seeing Elizabethâs face up close, Lindsay was certain.
With a gleam in her eye, she asked, âAre you looking for Stella?â
Elizabethâs head jerked up at the mention of Stellaâs name.
Elizabeth was rattled by Kristianâs actions but remained composed enough to realize she didnât know the woman in front of her, so she stayed silent.
Lindsay, undeterred, pressed on.
âIf you need assistance, I can help you locate Stella.
â
Elizabethâs eyes widened.
Clenching her teeth, she finally spoke.
âI need to find Stella.
When I do, sheâll pay with her life!â
Lindsay was satisfied with Elizabethâs reaction.
She dialed Felixâs number.
The phone rang barely a moment before Felix answered, his voice tinged with surprise.
âLindsay? Whatâs the occasion for your call today? Mis
sing me already?â
Lindsay, slightly irritated, cut to the chase.
âFelix, I need a favor.
Felixâs excitement was palpable as he quickly responded, âJust say the word, no formalities are needed.
â
Lindsay didnât beat around the bush and said, âCan you find out where Stella is for me?â
True to form, Felix didnât question her reasons.
He cheerfully replied, âNo problem at all.
â
Then, trying to shift the conversation, he suggested, âHey, are you done with work? How about we grab dinner later?â
Lindsay had no patience for Felixâs presumptuous, clingy behavior.
She dismissed him outright, saying, âIâm sorry, Felix.
I might not have the time.
â
Felix, not easily deterred, played another card, saying, âIf you donât agree, I might not feel up to doing that favor.
â
Lindsay grimaced at his manipulative tone but reluctantly said, âAlright, if you do this for me, we can have dinner.
â
âAwesome!â Felixâs voice was filled with joy.
Lindsay, having had enough of the conversation, hung up.
Moments later, Felix texted her Stellaâs location along with details for their dinner.
Lindsay glanced at the address he sent and smirked.
She quickly walked up to Elizabeth and showed her the phone, saying, âLooks like Stellaâs at Seamarsh Hospital, keeping your mom company.
They seem quite close.
It seems like your mom forgot she has a daughter like you.
â
Her words only intensified Elizabethâs resentment toward Stella.
