Chapter 2073
When Love Comes Late
Matthew didnât doubt Stellaâs feelings for him.
A mere photo was not enough to ruin it.
What he was worried about was her safety.
After all, she was taken away by a strange man on the street.
When Fernando saw Matthewâs solemn expression, he immediately said, âIâll do it right now.
â
Fernando was about to leave when he suddenly heard Matthewâs voice again.
Someone answered Stellaâs phone.
Matthew asked in a deep voice, âWho are you? Where is my wife? Why do you have her phone?â
An unfamiliar male voice came from the other end of the Line.
Fernando paused and subconsciously listened, though the distance muffled the sounds.
All he could discern was Matthewâs increasingly sullen expression.
Suspicion crept into Fernandoâs mind.

He knew the depth of the love between Stella and Matthew.

He gazed at her intently, his mind seemingly adrift in memories or thoughts.
After a moment, he gently smoothed her hair back, his fingers hesitating as he moved to caress her closed eyelids and brows.
Just then, the door burst open with a resounding thud, startling Sanford into frowning displeasure.
He turned to see who had entered with such force.
Matthewâs grim visage scanned the room.
At that moment, Stella, unconscious and receiving an injection, lay in the bed.
Beside her, a man was slightly bent over, Stellaâs hair still within his grasp.
The manâs gaze lingered on Stella with an expression that was hard to place.
Matthew, sharp as ever, caught the nuance and his expression darkened ominously.
Without a word, Matthew turned to Fernando.
âGo outside and stand guard,â he ordered, his voice devoid of emotio
