Chapter 2108
When Love Comes Late
Seething with anger, Felix confronted Matthew, âWhatâs the meaning of this? My familyâs done nothing to you.
Why are you making life difficult for us?â
Matthewâs face darkened like a gathering storm.
His fists clenched as if he were on the brink of losing his cool.
Sensing the tension, Stella quickly intervened, addressing Felix.
âDo you think Iâm lying in this bed for no reason?â
Felix, momentarily stunned, finally noticed Stellaâs presence.
In a voice dripping with misplaced confidence, he averted his gaze and declared, âThis has nothing to do with my family.
Regardless, Matthew needs to explain himself today, or Iâm not leaving!â
Matthewâs gaze was as cold as ice as he retorted, âYou should be asking your sister what sheâs done instead of hounding me for answers.
â
Felix frowned at Matthewâs cold tone, suspicion creeping into his mind.
Could Joann have harmed Stella again?
But the severity of Stellaâs injuries made him doubt Joann would dare do something so reckless.
Felix opened his mouth to accuse Matthew of lying, but the words caught in his throat as he remembered the explosion in the background when he talked to Joann over the phone.
At the time, he was too indifferent to look into what had happened; instead, he chose to enjoy a leisurely dinner with Lindsay.

It wasnât until the next morning that he discovered something had gone wrong at his company, and Joann was unreachable.
Matthew, his patience wearing thin, ordered the bodyguards, âTake him out.
And if anyone else barges in, youâre fired!â
Seeing Matthewâs rising anger, the bodyguards quickly moved to drag Felix and his group away.
But Felix resisted, his voice rising in defiance.
âI donât understand what youâre talking about, and I wonât believe a word without proof! No matter what, you owe us an explanation!â
Matthewâs voice was as cold as steel.
âYour sister should arrive at the police station in about ten minutes.
If you hurry, you might just catch her there.
Ask her directly if you want answers.
As for your company, itâs finished.
Youâre lucky you still have the breath to shout about it here.
You can thank Stella for that!â
Felix barely had time to react before the bodyguards clamped him down and hauled him out.
Finally, the ward regained its peace.
Stella slumped back against the pillows, the exhaustion of all that drama settling in.
Bella squeezed her hand.
âRest up.
The doctor said you need it.
â
Stella gave a tired nod and allowed her eyes to flutter shut for a moment.
Matthew, on the other hand, was restless.
The doubts gnawing at him needed answers.
He gazed at Stellaâs pale face before he turned to Bella.
âI need to check on something.
Will you stay with her?â
Bella offered a reassuring smile.
âOf course.
Iâll make sure sheâs okay.
â
Matthew offered a curt nod.
âI wonât be long.
â
