Chapter 2187
When Love Comes Late
Robin, finding amusement in the ordeal, swiftly pulled out his phone and started entering a number.
As he dialed, he taunted, âDo you think Matthew will answer? Will he swoop in to save you?â
The sight of Robin calling Matthew drained the color from Stellaâs face.
Robin reveled in her discomfort, continuing to dial numbers with a smirk, pretending to complete the call.
In a burst of desperation, Stella lunged at him just as he was about to hit the final digit and snatched his phone away.

âIâll drink,â she declared defiantly.
Her eyes locked on the vodka bottle resting on the table.
She swallowed her fear, her resolve hardening despite her trepidation.
Stella had never been much of a card player.
Playing it safe with cards was futile.
She knew she stood no chance at winning and couldnât just stand idle while her sales channel was at stake.
Opting to drink was risky, but she was prepared to face that challenge.
This was about her business, her struggle against the Wheeler familyâs schemes.
Even if Matthew had retained his memories, she wouldnât have involved him.
She twisted open the bottle with a resolute expression.
The men surrounding her were both shocked and impressed.
Despite their seasoned bravado, none of them would dare to down an entire bottle of vodka in one go.
Robin, taken aback by Stellaâs bold move, managed to maintain a taunting grin.
Stella drank the vodka under Robinâs scornful gaze.
With a sneer, Robin commented, âMy sister wouldnât stoop so low for money.
â
Ignoring him, Stella finished her drink, and battled the fierce burn in her belly.
She threw the empty bottle to the floor, breaking it.
Barely holding herself together, she slammed the contract onto the table and demanded, âSign it!â
Robin, his smirk unwavering, remarked, âYou certainly know how to handle your drink.
Iâm pleased the special bottle I selected for you today wasnât squandered.
â
Stella paused, momentarily caught off guard by his comment.
Robin went on, âYou know, this bottle was meant for you from the start.
Even if you hadnât planned to drink, my crew would have seen to it that you did.
By coming here, you shouldâve realized you were walking into a setup.
â
As he spoke, his laughter became louder and wilder.
A shiver ran down Stellaâs spine as it hit her that the disrupted sales channel was merely a ploy to lure her here.
She knew she couldnât stay, especially considering that she was outnumbered.
She quickly turned to make her escape.
But just then, several of Robinâs men quickly stepped in to block the door.
Stella met their gazes firmly and turned back to Robin, unfazed, to ask, âWhat are you up to, Mr.
Wheeler?â
Robin cut to the chase.
âLetâs keep this simple.
If you want to get out of here safely, youâll divorce Matthew and back off.
â
âBack off?â Stella let out a derisive laugh.
âTo make room for your sister?â
Annoyed, Robin snapped, âYou know what I mean!â
Laughing, Stella replied, âLindsay has been part of the Clark family since she was a kid, knew Matthew even before I did.
If she was supposed to become Matthewâs wife, how could I have got a chance to marry him? And why would there be a need for me to back off?â
As the words sank in, Robinâs face turned ghostly pale.
Stella, losing her patience, demanded icily, âGet your men out of my way.
â
