Stella’s surprise was palpable; Sanford’s unexpected visit threw her off balance.

She swiftly masked her confusion and directed Doreen to gather details about the evening’s dinner party before inviting him in.

Outside the office, Sanford overheard her instructions to Doreen.

As he stepped through the door, he halted Doreen with a calm assertion.

“You don’t have to gather information about it.

“What?” Doreen was stunned.

Stella, also puzzled, watched him.

With a knowing smile, Sanford pulled out an invitation and presented it to Stella.

“I’m here for the charity dinner.

”

Realization dawned on Stella, and she discreetly signaled for Doreen to leave.

Once alone, Sanford took a seat opposite her, extending the invitation.

It was only then that Stella recognized the significance of the event -the annual charity dinner in Seamarsh.

Her curiosity piqued, she queried, “Why do you have an invitation?”

Caught off-guard by his directness, Stella found herself momentarily lost for words.

Noticing the hesitancy in Stella’s reaction, Sanford offered a reassuring smile.

“Don’t misunderstand; I was merely jesting.

Another executive from Sanz Group will be attending the dinner as well, and I thought it might be beneficial for you to meet him-it could be advantageous for your brand development.

”

Once he had clarified his intentions, his tone became more earnest.

“So, will you agree to be my companion for the evening?”

Stella examined the invitation in her hand, mulling over the proposal.

After a brief pause, she responded with a decisive, “OK.

”

Sanford, unfazed by her acceptance, probed further.
