When Love Comes Late
The following morning, Oliver and Juliette left for their honeymoon trip.
Stella got ready to leave for Seamarsh by train.
She had just finished packing her Luggage when Clint knocked on the door and came in.
âYou have packed up already? Why donât you stay with me for two more days?â Clint tried to dissuade her.
His heart was already filled with sadness.

Stella smiled.
âGrandpa, I really wish I could.
But I only took a day off.
I have to return today, so I can get ready for work.
â
âTake it easy on yourself.
Your health comes first.
No job is worth sacrificing your health for.
You know that, donât you?â Clint told her.
âI do,â Stella replied.
She knew Clint was reluctant to let her go, so she comforted him, âNot to worry, Grandpa.
Iâll take out time again to come visit you.
â
After a pause, she added, âAlso, you donât have to always live here.
If you ever decide to come over to Seamarsh, Iâll welcome you with open arms anytime.
â
âOkay,â replied Clint with a smile.
Stella lifted the suitcase and placed it in a corner.
She hesitated for a moment before turning to Clint again.
âBy the way, Grandpa, Iâm leaving this afternoon.

Clint had taken possession of the marriage certificate immediately after she and Maverick got married.
It took Clint some time to process what he just heard.
He soon nodded with enlightenment.
âOh, thatâs right.
The certificate is still with me.
â
Stella took his comment as his acceptance for her to get divorced.
This made her overjoyed.
âLetâs go get it.
I need it toââ
âStella,â Clint interrupted her with an embarrassed expression.
Seeing this, Stella frowned and asked worriedly, âWhatâs wrong?â
âThe thing is, I donât remember where I kept your marriage certificate,â Clint said apologetically.
âHuh? It has always been with you.
How come you donât know where you kept it?â Stella questioned.
Clintâs shoulders slumped and he sighed.
