Chapter 381
When Love Comes Late
As Stella contemplated her response, a familiar Rolls-Royce pulled up before them.
From the car emerged a tall, impeccably dressed figure.
The man in a well cut dark blue suit walked over unhurriedly.
He was a man of stature, with long legs, a straight nose, and thin lips-a visage sculpted to perfection.
His aura exuded nobility and a hint of aloofness.
Zola was dumbstruck, especially when she noticed him approaching.
She felt her heart race with anxiety, her fists clenching as her chest heaved with rapid breaths.
Eager to approach, Zola lifted her foot, but the man brushed past her, proceeding straight towards Stella.
Zola froze in place, disarmed by the unexpected turn of events.
Before she could react, she overheard the manâs velvety voice, tinged with a trace of amusement, as he inquired, âIâm a bit late.
Why havenât you gone inside?â
Zola whirled around, only to witness Stella tightly clutching the manâs arm, their interaction intimate and provocative.
Ignoring Zolaâs piercing stare, Stella whispered to Matthew, âI was accosted by someone insignificant.
Letâs go inside now.
â
Zolaâs grip on her dress tightened, her anger boiling over.
âStella, arenât you going to introduce him to me?â she hissed through gritted teeth.
Stella merely pursed her lips and responded, âYou may not be qualified.
Furthermore, I forgot to mention that Iâm one of the ten KlassicLuxe competition finalists.
Iâm absolutely qualified to be here.
â
With that declaration, she held Matthewâs arm and strolled into the hotel, leaving Zola behind seething with jealousy.
Standing alone in the aftermath, Zola struggled to contain her rage, her features twisted in a venomous scowl.
As they stepped into the hotel, Stella discreetly distanced herself from Matthew, releasing his arm.
Matthew felt a hint of disappointment but maintained a facade of ease as he dropped his hand.
Stella, feeling a touch awkward, apologized in a hushed tone, âIâm sorry, Mr.
Clark.
That woman earlier was quite persistent.
I grabbed your arm in haste.
I hope it didnât cause any trouble.

âNot at all,â Matthew, maintaining his composure, replied nonchalantly.
âI wouldnât want you to face any difficulties.
Remember, youâre my private PR officer, and your image reflects that of Prosperity Group.
â
Stella, relieved by his response, glanced at Matthew curiously and asked, âMr.
Clark, did you not bring your wife with you?â
High-end dinner parties often required the presence of a spouse.
Matthewâs solitary attendance piqued Stellaâs curiosity, leading her to wonder if their relationship had yet to improve.
