Chapter 432
When Love Comes Late
Matthew felt a pang of disappointment as he observed the distance between them.
He hesitated briefly, preparing to respond when the door swung open.
Neville strode in and said, âSorry, Iâm late.
Howâs your talk?â
In walked Neville, exuding an air of nonchalance as he took a seat opposite Stella with crossed legs.
Repeating her plan concisely, Stella noted, âIâve shared the entire plan with Mr.
Clark, and Iâm awaiting his feedback.
â
Nevilleâs attention drifted to the tablet PC in Stellaâs hand, and he raised a quizzical eyebrow.
âLet me take a look.
â
Stella passed the tablet to him, and he perused the document swiftly.
âYour plan is excellent, but Matthewâs wife wonât be able to attend.
â
âWhy?â Stella inquired instinctively.
Matthew was still wearing his wedding ring, so why wouldnât his wife attend such an important event as his birthday?

Neville set the tablet PC aside and glanced at Matthew.
âMatthewâs wife is dedicated to her career.
She hasnât been in Seamarsh for an extended period, so she genuinely canât make it.
â
Stella now understood the reason behind Matthew and his wifeâs strained marriage.
Both partners were absorbed in their careers, often absent from Seamarsh.
Accepting this explanation, Stella nodded in comprehension.
âIn that case, Iâll remove that part of the plan.
Do you have any other suggestions?â
Neville, however, had a different idea.
âNo need to remove it,â he declared.
Stella frowned.
âYou can push the cake instead.
â
âMe?â Stella was taken aback by the suggestion.
Her hand, which was holding her glass of water, trembled, spilling the contents over Matthewâs attire.
Stella hurriedly retrieved a few tissues, her voice filled with regret.
