Chapter 537
When Love Comes Late
âThank you, Mr.
Clark,â Stella replied, her eyes shining.
Matthew paused, looked into Stellaâs eyes.
âHow are you feeling today? Have you recovered?â
Caught off guard by the sudden personal question, Stella answered, âI feel better after getting some rest.
Mr.
Clark, Iâd like to request two days off to visit my grandfather.
Yesterdayâs incident cannot be overlooked.
â
Matthew readily agreed.
âYouâve worked hard for the press conference.
You deserve a break.
Spend time with your family and recuperate.
â
Stella handed over the folder, saying, âThis contains details about recent projects.
Iâve highlighted the key points for your review.
â
Matthew raised his gaze and accepted it.
Their fingers collided beneath the document.
Stella quickly withdrew her hand, as if jolted by electricity.
Visibly unsettled, she said, âMr.
Clark, if thereâs nothing else, Iâll take my leave.
â
âVery well,â Matthew replied, holding back his emotions.
Stella hurriedly left the office and returned to her office desk.
Stella sat down and was about to turn on the computer when she glanced at her hand, and images of Matthew flooded her mind.
Stella shook her head to regain her composure.
It was just an accidental touch, nothing more!

She reasoned that her recent frequent encounters with Matthew had led her to dwell on him unnecessarily.
A two-day break from Prosperity Group would help her forget this unusual sensation, she told herself.
Stella brushed aside her Lingering thoughts and distracted herself with work.
Meanwhile, Matthew too felt a sense of unease.
Staring at the folder Stella had handed him, he eventually snapped back to reality.
He touched his fingertips, recalling Stellaâs awkward reaction.
Doubt crept in.
Did she still dislike him?
Matthewâs expression darkened.
Picking up the phone, he instructed Fernando, âClear my schedule.
Iâm going to Bysea for a couple of days.
â
Stella headed to the mall after finishing her workday.
