Chapter 753
When Love Comes Late
Before he could reach a decision, Fernando hoisted him up and aimed a gun at his temple.
His trembling intensified, but somewhere deep inside, he still believed Matthew was merely intimidating him.
âYou wouldnât dare.
You canât kill me.
â
âThen Letâs put it to the test,â Matthew retorted icily, signaling Fernando with a slight upward tilt of his chin.
Fernando c@@ked the gun and pressed it back against Alexâs forehead.
Terrified, Alex broke down in tears.
âAlright, alright! Iâll talk!â
Taking a shaky breath, he spilled everything he knew about the Fairwa project, under Matthewâs unyielding glare.
âThe Fairwa project isnât popular among the local power players in Fairwa.
Thatâs why itâs facing so much resistance.
Stevie has already infiltrated the construction team.
Youâd be wise not to cross Stevie.
Otherwise, you can forget about continuing with the Fairwa project,â
Alex reminded him.
Matthew remained unimpressed by the thinly veiled warning.
Without a momentâs hesitation, he drew his own gun, chambered a round, and shot Alex in the thigh.
As the bullet tore through flesh, Alexâs face broke out in a cold sweat.
His body crumpled to the floor involuntarily.
Alex fell to his knees with a thud.

Matthew holstered his gun and sneered, âDeliver a message to Stevie.
If he interferes with the Fairwa project again, heâll have only himself to blame for the consequences.
â
When Matthew exited the warehouse, his expression was dark.
Alexâs cautionary words had merit.
He wouldnât always be in Fairwa to keep an eye on Stevieâs activities against the project.
Nonetheless, this was a wake-up call.
He needed to strengthen the monitoring of the Fairwa project.
As they walked, Matthew instructed Fernando, âIâll head back to the hotel first.
Take care of tying up loose ends here.
Weâll rendezvous at the hotel entrance before heading back to Seamarsh.
â
âUnderstood.
â
After a grueling two-hour drive, Stella reached Fairwa Hotel at the stroke of ten in the evening.
