Chapter 874
When Love Comes Late
Stella nodded, a sense of comfort washing over her.
âOkay.
â
Nestling in his embrace, she realized that many issues could be resolved when she and Matthew communicated openly.
Perhaps this was what Clint had once told her.
Understanding each other was key to maintaining a long-term relationship.
With their misunderstanding cleared, Stella slept soundly and didnât wake up until there was a soft knock on the door.
She sat up, her eyes heavy with sleep, and saw Erin entering the room with a warm smile.
âMrs.
Clark.
â Erin greeted her.
âMr.
Clark asked me to wake you up for breakfast at nine oâclock.
â
Struggling to open her eyes, Stella inquired, âWhereâs Matthew?â
âHe left early.
There seems to be an emergency meeting at the company,â Erin replied honestly.
Stella nodded and proceeded to freshen up.
After Stella finished breakfast, Matthew returned home, and they headed together to Seleneâs clinic.
Upon arriving at the clinic, Stella noticed a woman waiting at the front desk.
As she approached, she immediately recognized Selene as the woman who had been conversing with Matthew at the bar the previous night.
Selene extended her hand with a warm smile.
âNice to meet you.
My name is Selene Beckett.
Are you Mrs.
Clark?â
Stella was slightly surprised but nodded, shaking her hand in return.
âNice to meet you.
Iâm Stella.
â
âMr.
Clark has informed me of the situation.
You can begin with a magnetic resonance imaging scan.
Weâll review the results after the examination,â Selene reassured her gently.
Stella followed the nurse to the examination room while Matthew and Selene waited outside.
After a brief silence, Matthew turned to Selene with a question on his mind.
âDr.
Beckett, I have another question for you.
â
âPlease, go ahead.
â
âIf someone has lost part of their childhood memory, what could be the underlying cause?â
