Chapter 9
When Love Comes Late
Smiling smugly, he leaned even closer.
âWhat a beautiful necklace you have got there.
It goes well with your radiant skin.
â
As he spoke, he reached out with the intention of touching her neck.
It took Stella great restraint not to slap his hand away.
Instead, she leaned back further and glared at him as her disgust grew stronger.
âIf you like this necklace, I will help you order one and send it to your company after the meeting.
Can we get back to the agenda now?â
Henryâs hand froze in the air and he sneered, âI thought Prosperity Group wanted to work with me.
But it turns out I was wrong.
Iâm a very busy man, so I shouldnât be wasting my precious time talking with insincere people.
â
He raised his eyebrows and looked at her with a hint of threat.
ALL of a sudden, the door was pushed open.
âThe cooperation is canceled!â
With an expressionless face, Matthew walked in.
He stood in front of Stella and faced Henry.

Henryâs face darkened.
âWhat did you just say?â
âYou heard me right!â Matthew said indifferently.
âYou are disrespectful to the female employees in this company.
And we will no longer cooperate with you.
There are thousands of piano pieces in the world.
It should be easy to get another pianist.
â
As Stella stared at Matthewâs broad back, her eyes sparkled with gratitude.
He was such a gentleman.
His wife was a Lucky woman.
Henryâs mouth dropped open and he looked utterly embarrassed.
The next second, he lost his cool.
He sprang to his feet, stormed out, and slammed the door behind him.
The other employees left their desks and craned their necks to look at the door of the meeting room.
The moment Matthew walked out, he gave Luna an earful in front of the others.
âDidnât you know you were supposed to do a background check on Henry Scott before offering to work with him? As a PR professional, you should know that every wrong move can lead to a disaster and it can backfire on this company.
â
Lowering her head, Luna apologized repeatedly.
âIâm so sorry, Mr.
Clark.
I promise that this will never repeat itself.
Next time, Iâ1L make sure to carry out a thorough investigation.
â
The last thing Luna expected was her nasty little trick to backfire.
