Chapter 922
When Love Comes Late
âOkay.
Iâll go check.
â
Kay quickly turned on her phoneâs flashlight before heading out.
Stella listened to Kayâs retreating footsteps, then switched on her own flashlight and located a seat to wait in the darkness.
No sooner had she settled into the seat than the sound of footsteps echoed from the entrance, quickly followed by the door shutting.
âKay, is that you?â Stella called out, puzzled.
She doubted Kay would return so soon.
âDid the staff explain the power outage?â
Shining her flashlight towards the door, all she could make out was a shadowy figure in the backlight, eerily silent.
Stellaâs unease grew as the figure moved closer without a word.
âKay, why arenât you responding?â she called out again, her voice tinged with worry.
As she rose, illuminating the floor with the flashlight, she saw a personâs face inches away from hers.
A wave of horror washed over her.
âGreg?â she gasped.
âMiss Anderson⦠Or rather, Mrs.
Clark now, isnât it?â Gregâs voice dripped with sarcasm.
His eyes narrowed.
âWow, you still remember me.
I had no idea Iâd run into you here.
What a surprise.
â
His tone was biting and filled with venom.
As Stellaâs gaze locked with Gregâs, her heart pounded with fear.
âDid you cut the power?â she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
âYes, that was my doing.
â Gregâs response came with a chilling laugh.
âYour assistant wonât be returning anytime soon.
Itâs just you and me here now.
Letâs finish what we started last time.
Iâve never made love in a theater, butâ¦â
As Greg spoke, he rubbed his hands together and looked at Stella lewdly.
Feeling nauseous, Stella dashed towards the door in a desperate attempt to escape, only to be abruptly yanked back by Gregâs forceful grip.
Stella, gripped by a mix of shock and fear, winced in pain as she desperately called out, âHelp! Kay? Is there anyone outside?â
Gregâs sinister laughter echoed in the dark space as he threw her forcefully to the floor, towering over her with a menacing presence.
