Chapter 961
When Love Comes Late
Stella quickly grabbed the handrail to steady herself, and once stable, she turned to Miley with concern.
âAre you alright?â Stella asked, reaching for Mileyâs arm.
Mileyâs hands trembled from the scare, but she managed a small nod.
âYeah, Iâm fine,â she replied, trying to sound composed.
They were lucky to escape with just a few minor scr@pes.
Looking up, Stellaâs gaze fell on a woman in a hat leaving the escalator.
The silhouette was strikingly familiar, and Stellaâs brow furrowed in recognition.
It was Mina.
Stella recalled the recent court day vividly.
She had testified about Minaâs aggression towards her.
And with Mina now out on bail, Stellaâs thoughts darkened.
This had to be an act of spite.
âWhy would the escalator just stop like that? Thereâs no way itâs a coincidence that the escalator had a malfunction.
We need to find the person responsible,â Miley said, her voice laced with anger as she clung to Stellaâs hand, cautiously making their way out of the escalator.
âIt was Mina.
â Stellaâs reply was calm but frosty.
âMina?â Miley echoed, surprised.
Stella nodded, sharing the history of bad blood between her and Mina.
âDamn it! Is she trying to kill you?â Miley rarely cursed, but her anger was palpable.
âWe canât let her get away with this.
Letâs get the security footage and take it to the police!â
She was ready to head to the security office, but Stella gently held her back.
âLet it go.
Iâm feeling too good today to let her ruin it.
Letâs not stoop to her level, at least not now.
â
âStella!â
Stella offered a comforting smile and said, âIâll stay alert.
She wonât have the chance to harm me again.
â
Mina had made a grave mistake, enough to warrant imprisonment.
Recalling Farrisâ worn expression from his recent visit, she chose to forgive Mina for his sake.
âLetâs go shopping instead,â Stella suggested, smoothly shifting the conversation.
