Chapter 969
When Love Comes Late
Frowning and hesitating, he turned to Stella and said, âThereâs something I need to tell you.
If I donât say it now, I might not get another chance.
Iâm leaving soon for further studies abroad.
â
Observing the seriousness in Farrisâ expression, Stella sat upright and asked seriously, âWhat is it?â
Before Farris could speak, the green light illuminated.
After composing himself, Farris was abruptly cut off by a car horn.
âLetâs talk later,â he said, starting the car.
As they moved forward, a minibus sped towards them at an alarming speed.
Farris maneuvered the steering wheel, veering the car to the side as swiftly as possible.
Stella watched the approaching minibus with growing dread, her heart sinking as she shut her eyes.
In an instant, the car collided forcefully and came to an abrupt halt.
Due to the force, both Stella and Farris were thrust forward.
Despite the presence of airbags, they felt disoriented and dizzy.
Stella kept her eyes closed until the queasiness subsided, her heart pounding furiously in her chest.
Without Farrisâ quick reflexes, they might not have survived the collision.
As Farris was about to check on Stella, he noticed through the rearview mirror the minibus didnât stop; instead, it was turning back, hurtling towards them.
âDamn it!â Farris hurriedly tried to restart the car, but the impact had rendered it immobile.
Seeing the minibus approaching, Farris unbuckled Stellaâs seat belt and urged her, âStella, get out of the car.
Hurry!â
Witnessing the minibus closing in, Stella opened her door.
Just as she was about to exit, she glanced back and saw the distorted door on Farrisâ side, rendering it impossible for him to open it.
âFarris, Iâll go first.
Try to get out from my side!â Stella exclaimed.
âFarris!â
The minibus accelerated suddenly.
There was no time for them to escape.
âProtect your head! Get down!â Farris yelled urgently.
He reached out, shielding Stellaâs head, then moved from the driverâs seat, tightly sheltering her under his body.
A deafening crash ensued, followed by another, resonating chillingly in Stellaâs ears.
The car absorbed a tremendous impact from the minibus, careening onto the roadside.
The windshield was shattered.
