Chapter 970
When Love Comes Late
The piercing collision noise reverberated in Stellaâs ears.
After what felt like an eternity, the noise ceased.
Pressed down, Stella couldnât utter a word.
After a while, with great effort, she lifted her head only to hear Farrisâ feeble voice above her.
âStella⦠Are you⦠okay?â
His words were faint, trailing off into barely discernible breaths.
Shaking her head, Stella realized Farris couldnât see her.
âIâm fine.
How about you?â
As she spoke, warm liquid dripped onto her, alarming her as she discovered it was blood.
âFarris, are you alright? Say something!â Panic surged through Stella, but she was held firmly by him, unable to move.
âFarris, donât scare me!â Despite her fear, she tried to reassure him.
âHold on.
Help is coming.
The police and the doctor will be here soon.
â
The distant sound of a police siren reached her ears.
It seemed someone had called for help.
âFarris⦠Say somethingâ¦â
Farrisâ hand moved slightly, followed by a deep exhale, then a weak voice.
âStellaâ¦â
Struggling to focus, he attempted to see the woman in his arms, but his vision was blurred.
âIâm afraid Iâll be separated from you again.
â Farris struggled to express himself.
âStella, I was bullied before, and you told me to hang on⦠Ahemâ¦â
âFarris⦠Stella was overwhelmed, not fully comprehending his words.
âDonât talk.
Hold on.
Help is on the way!â
Stella was gripped by fear, repeatedly calling out, âFarris.
â
âThe car door is locked,â someone said above her head.
It seemed the rescue team had finally arrived.
With a flicker of hope, Stella cried out for help and pleaded, âPlease hurry! My friend is in critical condition.
