Chapter 1001
When Love Comes Late
Two racks had been brought in, one for Lucia and another for Stella.
She was impressed by Matthewâs impeccable taste; each dress seemed perfect for them.
Eventually, Stella selected a dignified white suit for Lucia and a stunning purple dress for herself.
They each tried on their chosen outfits.
When Stella emerged, Matthew was captivated by her beauty.
The purple dress accentuated her elegance, a testament to the designâs brilliance.
Matthew approached Stella, a look of admiration in his eyes.
He leaned in and ki*sed her, whispering, âItâs beautiful.
You look incredible in everything.
â
Stella blushed under the intensity of Matthewâs fiery gaze.
Just then, the door creaked open in the next room and Stella complained, âGrandma is here.
â
Matthew gazed at her, eyes brimming with desire.
Before he could comment, Lucia emerged in a formal dress and said, âYou have good taste, Stella.
I feel so much younger in the dress you chose.
â
Approaching Lucia with a grin, Stella replied, âGrandma, youâre not old at all.
You exude elegance.
â
âYou are the only one who can make me happy.
â She examined Stella.
âYouâre stunning.
Matthew is fortunate to have you as his wife.
â
Stella blushed and answered shyly, âItâs Matthew who has great taste.
â
âI will cherish her,â Matthew declared, taking her hand.
Then, as if performing a magic trick, he produced two velvet boxesâone for Stella and the other for Lucia.
Opening hers, Lucia revealed a gem necklace and teased, âWell, youâve finally gained some sense.
â
Stella felt a sudden rush of nerves.
It marked the first occasion Stella celebrated Luciaâs birthday since tying the knot with Matthew.
Unaware of the dayâs significance, she found herself empty-handed.
Observing her distracted expression, Matthew easily guessed her thoughts.
Squeezing Stellaâs hand, he reassured her, âA gift from me is as good as a gift from you.
Grandma wonât mind.
â
Although she agreed with a nod, she insisted to Lucia, âGrandma, Iâll prepare another gift for you.
â
Lucia grinned.
âDonât worry about it.
You and Matthew are a couple.
His gift is yours.
â
