Chapter 1543

There was a slight tremor in Angelina's lashes. She shot a quick glance at the dinner spread. She

then looked toward Lauren with a concerned gaze.

They had agreed to gather over dinner tonight. She had been preparing their meal since the

afternoon.

Even though Lauren wasn't too skilled at cooking, she lent a helping hand by the side, too. They

were as busy as bees all afternoon.

However, Landon now looked to be in a hurry. It appeared that he had no plans to have dinner at

home.

This was fine with her. But she was just afraid that Lauren would feel disappointed.

"Aren't you having dinner at home, Landon?" Lauren frowned slightly. She looked at him with an

innocent look.

A loving smile came across Landon’s face. He walked to the front of Lauren. He placed his hand on

her head and stroked her soft hair. "I have plans tonight. I won't be eating at home.”

"Can't you adjust your plans a little?" Lauren's lashes fluttered as she peered at Landon cautiously. It

made his heart melt. "Angie put in an afternoon's effort to prepare this meal. These are the fruits of

her hard work. Landon, can you have dinner before leaving?"

"It's alright with me, Madam Lauren!"

Angelina shook her head. She felt undeserving to have Lauren side with her. Her face flushed red.

"Mr. Landon, these are just a few simple dishes. It's no problem. Your work is more important. I'll

walk you to your car.”

"How can it be no problem? You spent so much time preparing them. You must be tired!"

Lauren grabbed onto Landon’s hand. Her palms were clammy. "Can you have dinner first, please?

Angie put in a lot of effort.”

She really liked Angelina.

They spent their days together. The time spent with Angelina was more than she shared with

Landon. She was shy when she was with Landon. But she could chat endlessly with Angelina.

It was extremely rare for Lauren to make requests with Landon. Previously, she requested to see her

mother for one last time. Other than that, this seemed to be her second time making a request.

Angelina felt a lump in her throat. "Madam Lauren..."

Landon was taken aback. He glanced over at Angelina coldly.

Then, with a smile, he pulled a chair and sat next to Lauren. After that, he grabbed her by the arm

and sat her in between his legs. He crossed his legs, pinning her down to his chair.

"Okay, I'll listen to my darling. I'll eat.”

However, Landon was still not satisfied. He picked Lauren up by her waist and sat her on his lap. He

smirked as he gave her a gentle peck on her cheek. Their interaction was intimate and sweet.

"Time for dinner, Angie. Please serve up more for me."

"Alright!" Angelina's face lit up upon seeing that Landon had decided to stay for dinner with Lauren.

Over dinner, Landon and Lauren took turns to feed one another. It was an endearing sight to

behold.

Angelina was also seated at the table. Unlike the overflowing sweetness from Lauren and Landon,

she felt like her food tasted bland.

However, it was still an enjoyable meal.

After a hearty dinner, Landon walked out of the manor hand in hand. Angelina tagged along behind

them.

"Take good care of Lauren, Angie.” Landon wrapped his arm around Lauren's waist. He kissed her on

her forehead.

"Come back soon," Lauren said softly.

"Don't be like this, darling. I won't be able to leave home." Landon gave her a cheeky squeeze on

her bottom. "Don't stay up. Rest early, and don't wait up for me."
