Ben met her smile. Jasper, on the other hand, grinned warmly at her. He was used to her indignance

“Mr. Jasper, if you're able to walk, please head to the study. Mr. Newton would like to speak to

you.”

He turned and said gently to Alyssa, “Wait for me here. I'll be right back.”

“Like hell! I'm leaving. Goodbye!” Alyssa snorted and marched out of the room.

Jasper wanted to reach out to stop her but didn't in the end. He watched as she left, leaving only
