Chapter 1794

CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Harley replied, "The bottom line is, if you can't get it done, Wilfred will have to resign."

Boom!

Karina felt like she had been struck by lightning, frozen in place for a moment. After the shock passed, overwhelming anger followed!

She couldn't believe that Wilfred had personally proposed it. She could tell how much he loved his profession, and there was no way he would voluntarily say he would give up his career. It had to be because they pressured him!

However, Harley said, "You've got it wrong. It was definitely Wilfred who proposed it himself."

His gaze turned more meaningful.

"That's why I said, he cares about you. Otherwise, he wouldn't have made so many exceptions for you."

Karina could barely process his words, her mind only echoing that one sentence that Wilfred cared about her.

Just the thought of it felt like being burned, as though her heart was on fire.

Her heart became a tangled mess, and she couldn't bring herself to ask Wilfred directly. She could only process everything on her own.

For almost an entire week, she hadn't contacted him.

In the end, he couldn't take it anymore and called her.

"I got the flowers you sent, but they died in the vase," Wilfred said, pausing for a moment with a tone that sounded almost regretful.

Karina almost thought she had misheard him.

He continued, "Did I do something wrong with the way I kept the flowers?"

Karina stumbled over her words, "Well... flowers that have been picked will wilt quickly, even if you put them in a vase. But if you liked them, I can send more."

Wilfred lightly hummed in acknowledgment and changed the subject, "Been busy with the project?"

Karina, still unsure how to explain her silence over the past few days, found herself relieved when the topic shifted. She quickly replied, "Yeah, it's been pretty tricky.

Wilfred asked her what made it tricky.

Q.UMS

Now Karina regretted her response, feeling like she had shot herself in the foot. She reluctantly threw out a few questions.

As expected, Wilfred who had multiple PhDs, had no trouble answering them.

After a while, when Karina didn't respond, he paused again, "Still listening?"

The voice from the speaker was a little distorted, but his deep voice, like a cello, still sounded incredibly pleasant.

Karina lifted her head slightly and

explained, "I'm taking notes. Go

ahead, Dr. Wilfred, you were talk

about cell division. I didn't catch that part. Could you repeat it?"

Wilfred gladly went over it again.

The two of them chatted on the phone for what felt like forever.

Everyone thought Karina was on the phone with her boyfriend.

When a doctor walked in, she said, "Dr. Norman, you have a boyfriend? Talking on the phone in the middle of the day, and you're even taking notes?"

She glanced at the notes, only to find them filled with dense academic writing.

Just then, Wilfred's voice came through clearly.

"Cell division in biology is widely considered to take one minute... the key focus of this project is here.

we bring it to the normal rangeet

Qu

theoretically, the person should be able to return to a normal

Karina froze.

She quickly removed her earphones. "What did you just say?"

The doctor's lips twitched. "In the middle of the day, and you're here taking a class?"
