Chapter 190
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S21 20. Karaâs Anger
Susan smiled broadly. She knew Melanie felt depressed.
âIâm not proud, but grateful. I appreciate whatever I have now and I am grateful to those who make sure I always have enough.â
Melanie laughed bitterly. âLetâs see how long you can be grateful. Would you still be grateful when you couldnât feel luxury anymore? Letâs just wait.â
Susan nodded. A moment later, her hand stretched towards the door.
âThank you for visiting my simple room. If you have nothing else to do, may I rest?â
The look in Melanieâs eyes was getting scarier. With a throbbing jaw,
she walked out of Susanâs room.
âI should be intimidating that poor woman, but why was I the one whoâs annoyed?â
Behind her furrowed brows, Melanieâs brain was working fast. After a few moments, her sly smile appeared. âThat poor woman deserve lesson.â Carrying scissors, she went to the greenhouse.
In the afternoon, when Susan came to her garden, her eyes widen at her bare plants. All the flowers and leaves had withered on the ground. Small pots are also out of place.
âGosh! Who would have the heart to do all this?â A servant standing
next to Susan sighed.
The poor woman could only shake her head and swallow. Even
though her eyes were filled with tears, she still kept her suspicions a
secret.

âDo you want to help me clean up this mess?â she asked flatly.
The servant glanced at her pitifully. She knew how much Susan loved her garden.
âWait a moment, Mrs. Martin. Iâll call for more help.â
After nodding, she ran outside, called another servant and also
contacted Kara.
âReport, Maâam. Someone ruined the garden in the greenhouse. Previously, we heard your mother arguing with her in-law.â
Kara stopped looking at the document in her hand. âHow is my
mother?â
âYour mother tried to be strong, but it seemed like she was holding back tears. All her favorite plants were destroyed, Maâam.â
Kara sighed faintly. Closing the document, she rose from her chair. Keep this a secret from the security. Iâm going home now.â

Kara entered the greenhouse while looking around. She tried to fin the remaining plant, but her efforts were in vain.
âMother, what happened?â
Seeing the presence of her daughter, Susan stood up. âKara? Youâre home?â
âI heard that someone was destroying your garden. I immediately went home. Why did it happen, Mom?â
Susan gaped for a moment. Her eyes moved towards the servant who discovered the mess with her.
âItâs nothing, Kara. Maybe a rat snuck in here.â

âPlease be honest, Mom. This couldnât have been the work of a rat. Look at the cut marks.â Kara pointed to the leaves that had not been put in the sack. âSomeone cut it.â
Susan smiled wryly. If she hadnât been wearing gloves, she would have wiped Karaâs face. âSorry for making you panic. You put off your work to check on the situation here, hmm?â
âDonât change the subject, Mom. Who did this? Was it those two
people? They dared to look for trouble as soon as they came home from the hospital?â
Susan shook her head. Her expression was sad. âItâs not nice to accuse people, Kara.â
âSo itâs true. They were the ones who destroyed your garden.â After a snort, Karaâs jaw began to throb. Annoyance had welled up in her
chest.
âIs it because they failed to poison me that they targeted you? They really went too far. This canât be tolerated.â
Kara turned towards the exit. But before she could take a step, Susan grabbed her arm.
âWait, Kara. Where are you going?â
âGive them a warning. They canât just go around destroying things. that donât belong to them.â
Susan shook her head faintly. âBut Iâm okay. These are all just plants.â
âYour favorite plant,â Kara said with an annoyed groan. Closing her mouth, she stood straight in front of Susan.
âDid you see that, Mom?â Her finger was pointed at a pot. âThatâs a gift from me and Frank. And that one?â
Kara shifted her hand slightly. âIt was a gift from Louis and Emily.
They spent five hours choosing it. Now, whatâs left? Nothing.â

Susan took a deep breath. Her throat felt dry. âThere is no evidence that they ruined my garden, Kara. You must not be careless. After all, they are your husbandâs mother and sister.â
âI donât care. Whoever they are, wrong is still wrong. They must be reprimanded.â
Suddenly, Kara grabbed Susanâs shoulders, leveling their eyes.
âJust calm down, Mom. Donât think too much. Clean this garden and make a list of the plants you want.â
âYou still want to meet them?â Susan held Karaâs wrist.
âYes, itâs a must.â
Susan shook her head more quickly. âI donât want to add to the problem. Just leave them alone, hmm? Poor Frank if you fight with
his mother.â
Instead of answering, Kara turned her head to the side. âNora, please help my mother make the new plant list.â
The youngest servant approached them. âAlright, Maâam.â
A second later, she took out her phone. âWhat should we order, M
Martin?â
While Susan was distracted, Kara escaped. Her expression was firm her footsteps steady. When she arrived in front of Barbaraâs room she didnât hesitate to bang on it.
âMommy, Barbara, we have to talk!â
Melanie opened the door with an unhappy look. âWhere are your manners? Did you forget Barbara is sick?â
Kara barged in. Barbara, who was playing with her phone in bed,

gasped when she saw her coming.
âWhat do you want to do in my room?â Her eyebrows knitted together.
Kara pursed her mouth tightly. It looked like her eyes could freeze anything she saw.
âBetween you two, who destroyed my motherâs garden?â
Barbara shook her head. âIâve been in my room all the time since I came home from the hospital. How could I destroy your motherâs garden? And for what? It would just get my hands dirty.â
Meanwhile, Melanie raised her chin. âWhy are you accusing us? How much do you hate us? You expect Frank to get angry and throw us out, huh?â
âSo, youâre the one who cuts all the plants in the greenhouse?â Kara raised an eyebrow. âWhy?â
âI didnât do it.â Melanie looked away.
Kara laughed softly. âDonât let me ask the security team to check the CCTV, Mom. If they find out, itâs impossible for them not to tell Frank
about this.â
Melanie swallowed hard. She didnât think that far when she acted.
Still with an arrogant expression, she met Karaâs gaze. âThe greenhouse was built by my son. Whatâs wrong with me using it for fun?â
Barbara let out a sigh. She now knew that it was her motherâs doing. Shaking her head, she played with her phone again. She was too lazy to get involved in a fight.
âFrank made that greenhouse for my mother. All the plants in there belong to my mother. She takes care of them with great love. Itâs okay if you come to look around or garden too, but donât destroy them!â
Karaâs voice was full of emphasis.
