S21 78. Everyone Deserves to Be Happy

“Yes.” Philip grabbed the suitcase that Frank held out to him.

“You want to use my car?” Frank offered.

Philip shook his head. “Thank you, Sir. But I think that would be too

obvious.”

Frank nodded. After Philip and Barbara left, he saw Kara and the twins one by one.

“How about you go to the study first? There’s something I have to do before making a press release.”

The twins nodded. With unsteady steps, they walked towards the stairs. Meanwhile, Kara snuggled up to Frank. She knew very well what her husband was thinking.

“Is there anything I can do for you?”

Frank smiled wryly. He actually didn’t like to bother his wife. “Can you set up a camera for me?”

Kara nodded. “I’ll prepare it.”

After a few moments, Kara finished preparing. Not long after, F entered the study wearing more formal outfit.

“Can we start now?” He put his arm around Kara’s waist and kiss

her forehead.

“Yes.”

“Thanks, Kara. What about the Kids?”

Kara shook her phone. “I just checked. Apparently, they decided to share the animation they made.”

Frank’s eyebrows immediately arched high. “The one with the words’ will you marry me’?”

Kara smiled and shook her head. “The unedited one.”

Frank nodded. “It looks like Philip needs a new plan.”

“Yes, but after we finish untangling this complexity.”

Kara guided his shoulders until he sat in the chair provided. “Are you ready?”

Frank kissed her sweet lips. “Yeah.”

After patting Frank on the shoulder twice, Kara stood behind the camera. She nodded firmly and Frank began to speak.

“Good evening. I’m Frank Harper, CEO of Savior Group, son of Melanie

Harris and brother of Barbara Harris.”

The corners of Frank’s lips lifted slightly. He remembered that he was

once embarrassed to admit that Barbara was his sister.

“I would like to confirm that what Barbara explained in her broadcast earlier is true. Our mother, Melanie Harris, is facing great stress. Therefore, I hope you will all be willing to help us wish her a speedy recovery.”

Frank’s eyes dimmed a bit. However his firmness did not fade.

“I need to emphasize that I did not intend to abandon my mother a all. Currently, she is in the right care. I did not do this without consideration.”

Suddenly, Frank’s gaze shifted from the camera. He looked down slightly, as if contemplating something. Then, he raised his gaze again with furrowed eyebrows.

“Caring for her independently actually has more risks in increasing

the negative impacts. I don’t dare risk the safety of my own family. Therefore, I hope you all can understand my decision.”

After a blink, Frank straightened his shoulders. However, sadness still dominated his face.

“And for the commotion out of the news about Melanie Harris, I apologize profusely. I admit that all this time, I have been negligent in paying attention to my own mother. After years of separation, we only met again this month. I am sorry because I didn’t know and understand her condition. Once again, I apologize.”

After Frank looked down briefly, Kara stopped the recording. With a small smile, she looked at Frank proudly.

“You did well.”

“Is this video enough to reduce public anger?”

Kara nodded gently. “You’re not a disobedient son, Frank. People should be able to see that. To be more convincing, how about we attach the proof at the end of your video?”

“That’s a great idea. Have you contacted Mr. Morris?”

Kara grimaced. “I’ve sent a message, but he hasn’t replied. Maybe he’s still busy.”

Frank nodded. “While we wait, should we check on the Kids?”

Before Kara could answer, two round faces peeked through the gap in the door. “Mommy, have you finished? Can we come in?” Louis

whispered with a hand to the side of his mouth.

Kara laughed lightly. “Come in, Little Bee. Are you done?”

The two toddlers walked in while nodding. “Yeah, we don’t want to make it too long. Emily already scolded twice earlier.”

“You’re scolding too, Louis, even louder than me. Louis’ face was

Frank and Kara flinched. “You guys are scolding in the recording? Who are you scolding?”

“People,” the twins answered in unison. “They should not take information at face value.” Louis shrugged briefly.

“Yes, they’re naughty! They shouldn’t accuse Daddy and Auntie carelessly. We’re angry!” Emily puffed out her cheeks.

“Have you guys uploaded the video? Frank took out his phone, checking social media.

“There were already a thousand people watching earlier,” Louis said lightly.

“Now it’s ten thousand,” Frank showed the twins his phone screen. You guys remember what Daddy said about not causing new problems.”

Louis and Emily raised their shoulders together, pinching their necks. They looked smaller.

“I don’t think our scolding will be a problem. We’re too cute for people to hate,” Louis muttered, blinking his round eyes.

“Well, let’s hope it is true,” Frank sighed as he played the video from the beginning and then increased the volume.

“Hello, Everyone. I’m Louis Harper and this is my sister, Emily Harper. Have you watched the animated video we just uploaded?”

“If so, we hope you will stop cornering our Daddy and Auntie,” Emily continued in a very sweet but firm voice.

“Yes! Daddy and Auntie are not disobedient children. They really love Grandma Melanie.” Louis started to straighten his back from the back of his chair. “And you need to know, Daddy is not stingy at all. He

doesn’t prioritize wealth over family. The proof is that he gave Grandma Melanie a green diamond necklace.”

Suddenly, Emily elbowed Louis. “The orange diamond, Louis. The green diamond is for Grandma Susan,” she whispered.

Louis’ eyebrows pressed against his forehead. “Oh? Isn’t that for Mommy? Grandma Susan got the pink one?”

“No,” Emily shook, frowning. “How could Daddy give Grandma Susan pink? It doesn’t match.”

Louis scratched his temple. “I didn’t really pay attention to it.”

A second later, he looked back at the camera. “The point is Daddy gave Grandma Melanie an expensive necklace.”

Emily pursed her lips and pointed up her finger at the side of her cheek. “And not only that. There are many more things that Daddy gave to Grandma. So, you can’t call Daddy stingy. That’s a big mistake!”

“Yes! Our father really loves Grandma. So, he couldn’t possibly abandon her. Grandma is really sick and needs care.” Louis knitted his eyebrows tighter, conveying his seriousness.

“Mommy said, if Grandma gets better, Grandma can come back to live here. We always pray that Grandma recovers quickly. That way, we won’t be so sad anymore.”

Suddenly, Louis gripped his small fist. “But someone has spread fake news. Because of his actions, big problems have arisen. Daddy and Aunt are even sadder. You have to take responsibility!”

“Yeah!” Emily also put on a fierce look. “You’ve accused wrong people. Because of you, Auntie left. While in fact, she didn’t do anything wrong.”

“Poor Auntie. She just came out of the hospital. Her wound hasn’t

While Louis shook his head in pity, Emily folded her arms across her

chest.

“We hope you realize your mistake. Attacking other people with

“Emily is right!” Louis leaned forward in his seat and bent his face again. “Putting other people in a corner is not a commendable act. You should not judge other people like you did to Daddy and Auntie. Your words can be very hurtful! Insulting other people doesn’t make you greater.”

Emily nodded innocently. After brushing her hair from her shoulder, she turned to Louis. “Is there anything else you want to say? I think I’ll cry if I keep talking. I’m too upset.”

“Me too. I feel like I have a hot head. My blood must be boiling. Let’s just get it over.”
