Chapter 269
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 12. Approach Frank
âWhat can you do?â Frank tilted his head.
âI can persuade Grandma slowly, but I need your cooperation.â Sophia nodded.
âWhat do you want us to do?â
âI can persuade Grandma to talk to you privately. While waiting for approval, can you ask Kara not to provoke Grandma?â
Frank laughed dryly. âWhat do you mean by not to provoke? Do you think my wife is a catfight?â
âThatâs not what I mean. I just-â
âHi, Sophia. Youâre here?â
Sophia turned her head. Kara turned out to be walking towards them. Frank immediately greeted her with a bright smile.
âHello, Queen Bee.â
âYou really called me that?â Kara whispered as she pinched Frankâs
stomach.
The man laughed briefly. âIsnât that our agreement?â
Kara narrowed her eyes before turning to Sophia. âSo, what were you guys talking about?â
âSophia said she wanted to help.â
âYes, I donât like seeing you guys working while Iâm relaxing,â the woman interrupted, gracefully.
Frank was stunned. He was curious why Sophia stopped explaining.

âYouâre very kind,â Kara praised with a small smile. âBut you donât have to feel that way.â
Sophia was sick with Karaâs kindness. She had to find another topic. By the way, where are Louis and Emily?â
âIn that stall,â Kara pointed out. âTheyâre watching Abi put on a horse
blanket.â
âThey must be very happy to be on this farm. I canât miss their
cuteness. Weâll talk again later, okay?â
Sophia walked over to the stall. After she disappeared, Frank looked at Kara intently.
âWhy are you still nice to her?â
âWhat is wrong with it?â Kara shrugged and patted Frankâs arm. â Instead of discussing that, you might as well continue your work, Mister Muscle. Iâll take care of you.â
Frankâs eyes narrowed. His smile was meaningful. âSo, you came to us to look after me?â
âOf course,â Kara whispered. âI wonât let any woman bother you.â
Frank laughed again. After kissing Karaâs cheek, he sat his wife on one of the haystacks.
âThen, take a good look at me. When else will you be able to see my muscles working for something useful, other than sports and bed matters.â
Kara snorted a little. She was a little embarrassed to hear those words. However, she couldnât deny that the arms wrapped in the tight sweater were indeed beautiful to look at.
Meanwhile, Sophia smiled at the twins who were standing sweetly at the edge of the stall. Their gray eyes looked bright. Their mouths were

pursed, occasionally letting out a chuckle of amazement.
âI think the blanket is longer on the left side. Is that okay, Abi?â Emilyâs pointed her tiny finger. Her feet stood slightly on tiptoe, keeping her body from crossing the safe limits set by Abigail.
âOh, youâre very thorough, Emily. Thank you. But I donât think thatâs a problem. Casper prefers to lie on the left.â
Emilyâs mouth rounded again, and so did Louisâs.
âAbigail is great. She is very skilled at taking care of horses.â Louisâ thumb stood up. However, realizing Sophiaâs presence, he folded it back. His expression turned stiff. âWhy have you come here, Miss Moore?â
Sophia widened her eyes. Placing one hand on her chest, she tilted her head to the right. âArenât you happy Iâm here?â
âItâs not like that,â Emily interrupted. âLouis must be the same as me, thinking that you accompany Grandma to the orphanage. Abigail said you like playing with the children there.
Sophia laughed lightly. âNo. For today, I want to play with you.â
She stroked Emilyâs cheek. âSo, what are you guys doing?â
âWe watched Abigail put up the horse blanket.â Louisâ answer was straight and steady. There was no friendliness in his voice.
âWhatâs the fun in just watching? Do you want to try horse riding?â
Louisâs furrowed brows suddenly changed meaning. His dislike for Sophia decreased drastically. âIs that okay?â
âMommy said, weâre still too small and weâve never practiced at all. We can only ride if weâre supervised by a professional,â Emily continued with pursed lips.
Sophia shook her head in disagreement. âI started learning to ride

when I was your age and I even have a certificate. Some of the children at the orphanage also often learn in their free time. Is that right, Abi?â
Abigail grimaced. âYes, there are indeed some children who are interested in riding.â
âDid they use big horses?â Emily raised her eyebrows.
Sophia nodded. âYes. As long as your equipment is complete and you listen to the instructions carefully, you will be safe.â
âThen will you teach me to ride, Miss Moore? Itâs taking too long for me to wait for Grandma Diana.â
Louisâ face lit up. Seeing that, Sophiaâs smile became wider.
âOf course.â Her gaze warmed. âI would be very happy if we became good friends.â
Louis smiled brightly. If Abigail hadnât stopped him from moving too aggressively, he would have jumped up and down and run around the
horse.
âThank you, Miss Moore. I really canât wait to ride. I mean, learn to
ride.â
âBut Louis,â Emily tugged at her brotherâs coat sleeve. âThe horse is too high. What if you fall? Mommy will be very sad if you get hurt.â
Louis held the little girlâs shoulders, giving her reassurance. âRelax, Emily. Miss Moore said weâre safe as long as we follow the rules.â
âBut you donât have riding gear.â
Sophia snapped her fingers. âWhat a coincidence, I have ordered several sets of riding equipment for the children. I plan to donate them to the orphanage children. If you want, you can borrow them. The packages will probably arrive tomorrow.

Louisâ eyes grew rounder. âThatâs really cool. Thank you, Miss Moore!â
Suddenly, a voice came, âWhatâs so cool, Louis? Disputing your
motherâs advice or testing your courage?â
Everyone turned their heads in unison. Jeremy was standing by the
door with his hands stuffed in his pockets.
âUncle?â Louis himself didnât know if his voice was surprised or panicked.
âMiss Moore wants to teach Louis to ride, Uncle. I have reminded him, but Louis didnât want to listen.â Emily put on a pitiful look.
Jeremyâs lips pursed slightly. âHave you forgotten that a few months ago your hand was in a cast?â
Louis grimaced. âI remember.â
âThen? You want to test its strength?â
âJeremy, why are you scaring Louis? Riding isnât that dangerous. Heâll be safe. I guarantee it.â
The wrinkles on Sophiaâs forehead diminished her elegance, but not her tone. Her self-control was still very good.
âIs that so?â
âOf course.â Sophia reached out to the Twins.
âNow, come with me to get ready. And youâ¦.â She glanced at Jeremy with a mysterious smile. âIf youâre afraid your nephew will get hurt, come with us. You can see for yourself that I can look after Louis and Emily well.â
Jeremy didnât change his expression. He let Sophia and the twins pass the door then turned to Abigail. The girl quickly shut her mouth and looked away.
âDo you
think Iâm overprotective?â

Abigail shook her head. âNo. Thatâs natural. You love your nephew
very much, so itâs not wrong for you to be worried.â
Jeremy nodded. âGood. Keep thinking that,â he muttered before following the others.
As Jeremy left, Abigail sighed. Astonishment colored her face again.
âWhy doesnât he like Sophia being close to the twins?â she asked the horse.
After a blink, her eyes narrowed. âYes, thatâs the real reason. Itâs
suspicious.â
