Emily blinked in confusion. Her lips pursed. “Why are you sad,

Sophia? When you have children later, I’m sure they will be amazing, because their mothers are great too!”

Sophia shook her head helplessly. “Don’t you guys know yet? I’ve separated from Finnic. We’re no longer husband and wife.”

“Then, just find a new husband who is better than him. Later you can have good children too,” Louis replied lightly.

“Yes, you can meet another man and remarry, like Grandma Melanie and Mr. Harris. Look! They have a daughter as beautiful as Auntie Barbara.” Emily cupped her cheeks and made a sweet expression.

Sophia’s smile turned stiff. She hoped the twins would ask why, but why were those toddlers thinking forward?

“Finding a husband is not that easy, Kids. Not everyone is as good as your father.” She tried to dig another hole.

“Uncle Jeremy is nice and he’s still single.” Louis nodded confidently.

“Yeah, do you need our help to get close to him? If you two get married, your children will be as cute as us.” Emily tilted her head. Her tone was sweetened.

However, Sophia was untouched. The corners of her lips even

twitched in disgust. Only when she caught a shadow near the door did she quickly let out a bitter laugh. “That will never happen. Jeremy hates me.”

Louis nodded slightly before looking back at Sophia. “Sorry, we don’t

understand that.”

Sophia let out a soft sigh. Her head bowed and her shoulders were heavy.

“I thought you considered me a friend. I thought we were close to each other. Turns out, you also consider me an enemy?”

Emily shook her head swiftly. “It’s not like that, Sophia. You are our

Sophia looked at the twins through the upper corners of her eyes, pitifully. “If we were friends, you would definitely explain it.”

Silence fell again. After blinking for a while, Louis finally sighed in resignation. “Okay.”

Emily’s eyes lit up. She turned around facing Sophia then took a deep breath.

“Actually, Grandpa Rowan gave Philip a mission. If he can bring our family together with Grandma Diana, he will get a very large

apartment.”

Sophia kept her expression steady. “Only that?”

Louis nodded lazily. “Yeah, only that.

“If his job is just to bring people together, doesn’t that mean he’s finished doing it?”

“I don’t understand either. Maybe it’s because Grandma Diana hasn’t received the gold Grandpa Rowan entrusted to her.” Emily shrugged, confirming the doubt.

Sophia leaned her head forward. “Gold?”

Louis nodded. “Yes, Grandpa Rowan wants to give Grandma a lot of gold. Maybe Grandma has to sign something. Only after that, Philip will be declared valid for completing the task.”

After patting Sophia’s back and waving, the toddlers entered the

room. They didn’t know that as soon as the door closed, the woman smiled triumphantly.

“Good. Everything went perfectly. Now is the next step.” She turned around then approached Diana’s room.

“Grandma?” She knocked gently. “It’s me, Sophia. Are you asleep?”

Not getting an answer, Sophia checked inside. Finding an empty room, her eyebrows knitted together. “Where is she?”

As she looked around, her eyes caught the gap in the main door.

“Oh, that’s even better,” she sighed between thin laughs. After taking her coat, she walked out.

As expected, Diana was in the stall of her favorite horse. The horse seemed to understand her feelings. It sat quietly with its head on Diana’s lap, letting the old woman stroke.

“Grandma? Why are you here? And why are you crying?” Sophia entered with a worried expression.

Diana sobbed. She seemed to have difficulty collecting her voice. Sophia….” Her breath hitched.

Sophia rushed to kneel beside Diana, hugging and stroking her back. Oh, Grandma. Are you haunted by the past again?”

Diana shook her head. “I heard everything, Sophie.”

Sophia raised her head, looking at Diana with faintly shaking eyes.”
