Chapter 278
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 21. Evil Plan
Sophia took Dianaâs hand, holding it tightly. âDonât say that, Grandma.â
âYou donât need to defend them anymore, Sophia. Their purpose is clear. They come not to see me, but to use and insult me.â
Suddenly, Diana looked up. Her gaze was floating in the air.
âThat jerk gave me gold to prove his victory. He wanted to show how successful his life was without me beside him. He wanted me to see how happy and harmonious his family was.â
Diana choked. Her anger overflowed.
âHe must have hoped that I would accept the gold. He thought I would admit my defeat-admit everything he said. But no! I wouldnât accept anything from him. I never regretted leaving his side. My lifeâs much happier without him and his wealth.â
âGrandma,â Sophia rubbed the wrinkled hand she was still holding, Iâm sorry. I really didnât know you were there. If I had known, I wouldnât
have asked the twins that.â
âItâs not your fault, Sophie. God must deliberately show me the truth so I can open my eyes. Those people are not worthy to set foot here.â
Suddenly, Diana moved from her position. Afraid that the old woman. would cause a commotion, Sophia quickly held her.
âWait, Grandma. Please donât be careless.â
âDonât get in my way, Sophie. Let go!â
Sophia shook her head with a look of pity. âYouâre too emotional. It would be best for you to calm down first. Letâs handle this matter with a cool head, hmm?â

âI canât, Sophie. As long as they are here, my head wonât be able to cool down. They have to leave this farm as soon as possible.â
âBut if you chase them away, they will definitely think that I reported this to you. I donât want to make enemies!â
Diana flinched. She remained silent for a moment, watching Sophiaâs
face.
âPlease, Grandma, donât chase them away. Itâs winter. Louis and Emily would suffer if they looked for accommodation at this hour. Please
think about them.â
Diana looked away. Her fists slowly weakened.
âThey should be grateful to you. I didnât chase them away because of you.â
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief. Widening her smile, she shook Dianaâs hand. âThank you, Grandma. Thank you.â
âFor your sake, Iâll let go of their mistakes. But next time, there wonât be another chance. If they mess with me or with you, donât stop met from chasing them away.â
âOkay, Grandma. Once again, thank you.â
Without replying, Diana stood up. Sophia was no longer in her way. She knew the old woman was much calmer.
âCome on, Grandma. Let me take you to your room.â
She wanted to guide Diana. However, Diana raised one hand.
âNo, I need some time alone. Please give me a few minutes.â
Sophia nodded. While remaining still, she watched Diana move away. The smile on her face seemed more cunning than graceful.
âGood. Letâs just wait for the right time for the bomb to explode.
When it happens, you wonât be able to deny that Iâm the hero.â

The next morning, the atmosphere was much quieter than the previous day. Everyone didnât talk much. Even, Louis and Emily didnât seem enthusiastic about speaking their minds.
âEmily, do you feel something strange about this morning?â Louis whispered when he had just sat down at the dining table.
Emily nodded. Her eyes focused on the others one by one. âMaybe Uncle and Auntie are afraid that Grandma will be angry, so they prefer
to keep quiet.â
The twins glanced at Diana. The old woman was tracing the rim of the cup with her index finger. Her face was gloomy, her gaze empty. Unconsciously, the toddlers both shuddered.
âGood morning, Everyone.â
The twinsâ eyes widened. They turned their head and immediately smiled to greet Kara.
âGood morning, Mommy. How is your condition this morning? You donât have a fever anymore, right?â Louis straightened his back and raised his neck.
Kara stroked her sonâs head then kissed his round cheek. âIs it still
hot?â
Louis cupped Karaâs cheek and thought. âIt seems normal.â
Suddenly, Emily put her hand to Louisâ forehead roughly. The little boy spontaneously blinked.
âEmily! Weâre sitting on a high bench. What if I fall?â
Emily chuckled. âBut you didnât fall, right?â Her tone was nosy.

Feeling amused, Kara kissed Emilyâs cheek. âDid you sleep well?â
Emily nodded. âI donât have nightmares anymore. On the contrary-â
She held back her words. Remembering her secret with Louis, she smiled sweetly. âI dreamed that the number of people in our palace was increasing, Mommy. Our kingdom is becoming more harmonious and prosperous.â
Kara curled up her lips. However, realizing Dianaâs red eyes, she quickly straightened up.
âThatâs a nice dream. Letâs talk about it after breakfast. You guys eat a lot, hmm?â
Kara wanted to approach Abigail and Sophia who were preparing food, but two tiny hands grabbed her.
âMommy, why donât you just eat here? Itâs cold outside, and you have just recovered. What if your fever comes back again?â The furrow at Emilyâs eyebrows touched her heart.
âYes, eat with us, Mommy. Once in a while, itâs okay for Daddy to eat alone. Or if necessary, let me take Mommyâs place and accompany Daddy to eat outside.â Louis poked his own chest with his thumb.
Karaâs heart warmed. Stroking her childrenâs hands, she smiled. âYou donât need to worry. Iâm fine. Besides, my coat is thick.â
âBut Louis and Emily are right,â Frank came in and put his arm around Karaâs waist. âYou should stay away from the cold first.â
Kara sighed awkwardly. She knew Diana was still watching her.
âFrank, I donât want any more fuss. So, please donât persuade me to eat here. How about we just eat in the living room?â
Kara had tried to speak as quietly as possible. However, her whispers still bothered Diana. .
âCanât you two calm down? All I want is having breakfast in peace.â
Everyone froze. No one dared to move. After a few blinks, Kara
touched Frankâs arm.
âLetâs just eat in the living room,â she decided.
Frank nodded. âYou go there first. Let me get breakfast today.â
Kara shook her head. Her eyebrows furrowed. âIâm already healthy, Frank. You donât need to pamper me. Let me do it.â
Suddenly, Diana hit the table. Her red eyes started to water. âIf your want to put on a show, do it somewhere else. Not here.â
Everyone fell silent again. But this time, Frank looked at Diana cynically. âWhatâs really bothering you, Grandma? Kara and I didnât do anything. We didnât even talk loudly.â
Diana snorted. âThereâs no point in me talking with these people.â
The old woman stood up and left. Everyone was stunned to see her, including Louis and Emily.
âWhy is Grandma angry again?â
âDoes Grandma really not like us being here?â
Philip let out a faint sigh. As he got up from the chair, he whispered, â Let me try talking to her.â
Barbara held Philipâs arm. âGrandmaâs not in a good mood, Phil. I donât think this is a good time.â
âIf we wait for the right time, I think the opportunity will never come. This must be straightened out immediately.â Philip patted Barbaraâs hand and then smiled widely. âJust wish me luck.â
After that, Philip left confidently. He didnât know that from the next room, Sophia smiled faintly.
