Chapter 284
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 27. Misconception
Kara laughed awkwardly. âNo, Little Bee. Philip made it up.â
âMommy and Daddy were just exercising,â Frank continued before embracing Kara from behind. On purpose, so that Sophia would stop having the wrong idea.
âDaddy,â Emily puffed out her cheeks, âMommy has just recovered. Why did you take her to exercise until she was exhausted? Poor Mommy.â
âYes, your action was not wise, Daddy. Next time, just take me and Emily. Let Mommy rest. If not, you can just rent a horse. Do the
exercise during the day. Donât do it at night.â
Philip burst into laughter. Louis was confused when he saw him.â Whatâs so funny? Isnât horse riding a sport?â
âPhilip laughed because I tickled him, Louis.â Barbara showed her fingers and then demonstrated. Kara shook her head at the young coupleâs behavior.
At that moment, Jeremy stepped in. Seeing his messy appearance, everyoneâs focus was diverted.
âUncle, whatâs wrong with your hair?â
Jeremy looked at Emily with a slightly raised eyebrow. âI havenât brushed it yet. Is it messy?â
âVery messy.â
âHave you brushed your teeth and washed your face?â Louis moved
his hand near his cheek.
Jeremy nodded. âYes. Why?â

âYou look like youâve been sleeping on the street.â
âWhere did you sleep last night, Uncle? I saw that the bed next to Louis was neat this morning. You didnât stay in our room,â Emily shook her head.
Silence spread in the air. The adults exchanged glances, except
Sophia. Her eyes trembled as she watched Jeremy.
âCould it be⦠last night it was Jeremy, not Frank?â
Blinking, she checked her memory. Frankâs voice and movements had been strange since entering the stable, and she couldnât see his face clearly since the moonlight was occasionally covered by clouds.
âOh? Whatâs wrong with your hand, Uncle?â
Everyone immediately looked at Jeremyâs hand. The man himself came to check it out. Apparently, there were scratches on the back of his hand.
âWho scratched you, Uncle?â Emily asked worriedly.
In an instant, Sophiaâs face turned pale. She remembered very well, she was the one who made the mark when she wanted the man to hold her tighter.
âGosh!â Sophia cursed in her heart. Her breath started to rumble. How could I possibly sleep with him? When, obviously, Frank was the one who went to the stable with me.
In an instant, anger welled up inside Sophia. She felt cheated. Without thinking about anything else, she took steps towards Jeremy.
âCome with me,â Sophia grabbed his hand.
Jeremy furrowed his brows. His legs refused to move. âWhat for? I want breakfast.â

âFollow me!â
Everyone gasped. Even Abigail stopped squeezing oranges. However, when she turned around, Sophia and Jeremy were gone.
âDid they fight?â She blinked, surprised.
Frank shrugged his shoulders stiffly. âIt seems so.â He was fully aware that he had put his brother in that difficult position.
Meanwhile, Diana just left her room. Seeing Sophia walking quickly while pulling Jeremy, she was stunned.
âWhat are they doing?â Curious, she followed.
âWhere are you going to drag me? Do you want us to do it again? At last nightâs place?â Jeremy sounded uncomfortable.
Sophia threw Jeremyâs hand away. Her eyes were red and her jaw was throbbing furiously. She didnât care that they had only just reached the front porch. Her emotions could no longer be suppressed.
âYou owe me an apology. No-you should be on your knees begging me for forgiveness.â Sophiaâs voice was trembling, low but full of emphasis.
Jeremy snorted slightly. âFor what? Iâm innocent.â
âInnocent?â Sophia laughed bitterly. A second later, her finger poked Jeremyâs shoulder. âYou must be responsible for your action against me. You have made me dirty.â
Furrowing his eyebrows, Jeremy brushed off the touch. âYouâre crazy, huh? Iâm the one who should sue you. Youâre the one who framed me.â
âI didnât frame you.â Sophiaâs voice was a little shrill.
âOh, yes.â Jeremyâs finger suddenly straightened and swung briefly. Correction. You intended to frame my brother, but instead, I was

trapped. Do you realize that what you did was evil?â
Sophia gritted her teeth harder. âYouâre the real evil.â
âDonât distort the facts, Miss Moore. You intended to seduce someoneâs husband. You even prepared the stimulants. You should be lucky that I got hit. If it was my brother, I canât imagine what
disaster would come.â
Sophia didnât reply. She continued to cast a hateful gaze.
âWhat?â Jeremy challenged. âDo you want to deny that itâs normal spray? Should we call Frank and ask for his testimony?â
While putting his hands in the pockets, Jeremy tilted his head. âDo you know? Frank actually inhaled the drug too. But, when he was at the door, he handed me the boxes. He said he had to see Kara. Do you know what that means?â
Jeremy raised the corner of his lips. âNo matter what, you will never get my brother. He already belongs to Kara. No matter how far he goes, he will always come home to Kara. So stop targeting him and donât bother our family anymore.â
Diana, who was eavesdropping, blinked rapidly. The puzzle in her
head had not been arranged systematically.
âWhat really happened? Did Sophia sleep with him? But she wanted Frank?â
Suddenly, Sophia laughed sinisterly. âI never bothered your family. Itâs you guys who bothered me.â
âIs that why youâre here? You want to ruin our family?â
Sophiaâs face stiffened. âWhat other slander is that? You canât get enough of cornering me, huh?â
âStop your charade, Miss Moore. Donât think Iâm stupid. You think I

donât know that you were the one who brainwashed Diana Johnson?â
Diana held her breath. She pressed her ear closer to the wall.
âYou got the poor old woman caught in a misunderstanding. You know that Kara is not what she imagines. You know that Frank is very different from his grandfather. And I think you also know that Philip doesnât expect the inheritance. Why didnât you explain that to her?â
Sophia snorted. âWhat reason do you think Grandma hasnât kicked you out of here? I was the one who persuaded her. You should be thanking me, not accusing me.â
âBut you covered up all that information. Could it be that you also slandered Kara? What did you call her? The third person in your marriage? If it werenât for that, I donât think Grandma would see her like a despicable woman. Iâm good at reading situations.â
Diana gaped. She remembered how Sophia won her sympathy by exposing Karaâs disgrace. Turned out thatâs not true?
âWatch your mouth, Jeremy. I never speak ill of anyone else. I speak as is.â
âIs that so? Well then, did you tell Grandma that Rowan Harper was gone? I think all this time she thought her ex-husband was still alive and was after her.â
Diana gasped. Her whole body trembled, stung by reality. âRowan is dead? He will never appear in my life again?â
Suddenly, tears gathered on Dianaâs eyes. Confusion enveloped her
mind.
Should she be relieved and feel free? Or regret and feel guilty? She had tortured herself by living in the shadow of Rowanâs threats which no longer had any meaning.
