S31 32. Is Kara Pregnant?

“Why do you want to go, Grandma? Let’s stay here. The car is

overload.”

Diana’s breathing immédiately rumbled. “What right do you have to stop me? If I say I want to go, I have to go.”

Sophia was lost for words. She didn’t expect Diana to yell at her.

While smiling crookedly at Sophia, Jeremy pointed to the front passenger seat. “Please come in, Grandma.”

Diana let out a faint breath. “Thank you.”

After closing the door, Jeremy stepped back. The twins waved from the rear side window. When Jeremy was about to waved back, Philips stepped on the gas. The car drove off, leaving Jeremy alone with Sophia.

“Are you upset?” Jeremy turned his head with a mocking look.

Sophia’s lips trembled just like her clenched hands. “That is none of your business!”

“Obviously that’s my business. You’ve just been dumped by my

grandmother. You must realize that your plan to ruin our family has

failed.”

Jeremy put his hands in his pockets then turned to face Sophia. “Now what? You want to come up with a backup plan?”

Sophia growled. The red streaks in her eyes doubled. “Don’t mess with me. You don’t know who I am.”

“In fact, I know who you are. Sophia Moore, the capable daughter of the Moore family. She is known for her grace and generosity. But

looking at your current state, I doubt that you are really Sophia Moore. Are you having an identity crisis?”

With a chuckle, Jeremy walked away. “Then that would be a shame. Your parents would be disappointed if they found out.”

Sophia looked at Jeremy’s back with shaking shoulders. Her lungs were too hot. She would have squealed if there wasn’t anyone else on

the farm.

“Damn! How dare they look down on me?”

Gritting her teeth, Sophia shifted her gaze towards the road. The car carrying Kara was no longer visible, but the look in her eyes seemed like she wanted to stab her.

“And you Kara, don’t be happy yet. You have not won from me. A greedy woman who only relies on luck like you won’t last long. Just wait and see. Once you wake up, people will stop siding with you.”

“How is it, Doc? How is my wife?” Frank asked as soon as the doctor

took off his stethoscope.

Kara quietly elbowed her husband. “Patience, Frank. Let the doctor think first. You’ve already asked three times.”

“That’s because I’m worried, Kara. I need to know your condition as soon as possible.”

“I’m fine. The proof is that I’m awake, right?”

“But you fainted earlier.”

The doctor cleared his throat, asking for attention. “May I know when the first day of your last menstruation was?”

While Kara answered, the twins were busy discussing together.

“Is my wife pregnant?” Frank asked, holding Kara’s hand tightly.

The doctor smiled slightly. “I suspect so. Fatigue, cold weather, pregnancy… these all can cause someone to faint, especially since Mrs. Harper’s blood pressure is low. But we have to confirm this with an ultrasound. Nurse, please register Mrs. Harper in the ultrasound

room.”

The twins’ eyes lit up. Their smiles were beautiful. “Mommy, Daddy, will we have a younger sibling soon?”

With the same expression, Frank held his two children. “I hope so. Let’s just wait for the ultrasound results, hmm?”

“Okay!”

Then, the three people hugged. They were very enthusiastic about accompanying Kara to the next examination room.

Kara smiled at the chatter. “Emily is right. The doctor must find the

The doctor pointed to the ultrasound screen. “From here. We can see

it later.”

Louis and Emily moved their positions near the monitor. They blinked at the strange spots there.

“Are these the contents of Mommy’s stomach? Where is the intestine? “Louis tilted his head.

Frank and Kara burst into laughter, while the doctor snorted in

amusement.

“This is the uterus, an organ that only women have. It is located under

the intestines.”

The twins’ mouths rounded. “If there is a baby in there, will Mommy’s intestines push up?”

The doctor nodded.

“Does it hurt?” Emily frowned.

“It must feel very uncomfortable. Therefore, you have to love your mother. You put pressure on her intestines and other organs whe you were in her womb.”

The twins pouted.

“Sorry if we made Mommy uncomfortable. I promise I won’t be naughty or make Mommy angry.”

“Me too. I will be a good boy, so Mommy’s sacrifice was not in vain.”

Kara smiled slightly. “It’s okay, Little Angel. I’m happy to have given birth to you.”

While the twins’ eyes were sparkling, Frank’s gaze was dreamy. He remembered that he wasn’t there when Kara was pregnant with the twins. Imagining Kara went through all that alone, his chest was getting tight.

“Oh, here it is!”

Frank’s daydream was shattered. He blinked and found the twins already jumping up and down near the screen.

“Where, Doctor? Where?”

The doctor pointed to the lump in the black space. In an instant, the twins were stunned.

“Is this our little sibling?”

“How cute…. It’s so small.” Emily pinched the air with her index finger and thumb, about the size of the lump.

“But this is just one. Is there another baby, Doctor? We want twins like

us.”

The doctor shifted the tool in his hand and then returned to the lump. Sorry, just one.”

The twins looked down languidly. However, after one breath, their shoulders rose again.

“But it’s okay. I’m not sad. I’m still happy that we have a younger

sibling,” Louis nodded firmly.

“Yes, Mommy’s stomach won’t be so full. Mommy won’t suffer as

much.”

Kara smiled at the twins’ response. Then, glancing at Frank, gripped his hand tighter.

“Congratulations. You will soon be a father of three adorable children.

Frank smiled and kissed her temple. “And you will be the proud mother of three children.”

Hearing Frank’s hoarse voice, the emotion in Kara’s eyes thickened. However, hearing Louis’ enthusiastic voice, her tears disappeared.

“Doctor, can you take a peek again? Our little sibling is a boy or a girl?”

The doctor chuckled. “Sorry, it’s still too early to know the gender. But, there are other things we can check now.”

“What?”

“Do you want to listen to the baby’s heartbeat?”

The twins’ eyes sparkled brighter. “I want! I want!”

Silently, Frank held his breath. He didn’t have time to hear the twins’ heartbeats while they were still in the womb. Now, he got a golden opportunity. Of course he didn’t want to miss any beats.
